Stenchy smelly funk permeates the aisles of this supermarket and it gets worse in that refrigerated section for produce and meats in the back. I have no idea of what died in here but it's nasty and makes you want to run out.
Be warned this is also the most sketchy grocery store in St. Thomas. Rough looking characters hang out at the front ramp on beach chairs. Not sure of why sitting there is a thing to do. Why not sit at a beach and stare at the water instead of a parking lot?!
Yes, it's the most convenient to those coming off the cruise ships in crown bay and for those FEMA and line workers living off that cruise ship docked out there but I wouldn't come here. It's dirty inside and not well maintained. Workers are cruising the aisles goofing off which is probably of what contributes to the mess that this pueblos is. The only thing this store has going for it are the prices. It is reasonably cheap but the sanitary conditions and that smell ( I want to say it's spoiled salt fish) just makes you feel like you can't buy anything.
We've stopped here a few times in passing only to get lottery tickets and peace out quickly. Good luck to you if you decide to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere are 2 Pueblo Supermarkets. One in Long Bay area and I will compare the two! Subbase Pueblo is located near Nisky Center! This Pueblo affords me a better shopping experience than Long bay Pueblo! Although parking can become stressful due to the constant flow of customers its still a worthwhile trip. Disability parking and an acessible ramp are another plus! Personally like the separate large cold room specifically for produce, meats, frozen and dairy products. Its capacity is far greater than the Long Bay Store! Pueblo in Long Bay has an advantage though, they serve take out only hot breakfast and lunch. Everything is weighed, wrapped and sold by the lb! Try their creamy porridge...unbelievably good for a satisfying breakfast, add a fresh produce banana and voila! Breakfast merges into lunch with chicken or some other soup favorite, and assorted meats rice and veggies! Both Pueblos have weekly offers however only long Bay offers a reduce price area on different items. Every day those greatly reduced items change. .. go see , u never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, this Pueblo can be depressing to go to. The parking lot is in disrepair and can be hard to get in and out of because of traffic. The store itself is poorly lit and mostly not air conditioned, so it can be over 80 degrees inside. I don't recommend buying any of the limp chocolate bars on the shelves. Regular prices can be fairly high here, and they don't carry any local products. However, the refrigerated section at the back of the store holds some pleasant surprises, such imported cheeses and decently-priced vegetables. Their sliced watermelon is particularly well priced. Dry pasta is also in the refrigerated section for some reason. This store sometimes has good deals on staple items such as UHT milk. The prices here are generally better than at the Gourmet Gallery, so it's a convenient place for people with boats at Crown Bay Marina to come...
