This marina is like the younger sibling to what Yacht Haven Grande is in Charlotte Amalie Bay. Located only five minutes away from the airport, this Marina is the second option for mega yachts to dock with for long term stays and has a really cool refueling dock. We love this area because of a few of the restaurants, shops and grassy walking area for our dogs that line the entire marina and is very well kept (maybe more so than Yacht Haven).
The office team here is super cool and efficient (which is not found a lot out here!), and you'll need to pop in for a pass, if you are parking you car here for the day while you go to Water Island with the water island taxi that docks next to Tickles Pub. Tickles is one of our favorite places to get breakfast or bunch and Scoops and Brew is THE best for coffee and ice cream with a entertaining area to eat your treats while your kids are entertained with toys (see my reviews for both places).
The dreaded AT&T store is here with their crazy line hasn't died down since we were all allowed by the government to go outside again after the hurricanes, and Style a Dog, is the best place for doggie supplies and grooming services (post hurricane). This Marina and all of its shops did well with the hurricanes, you'll only see few dighys that are half sunk in the water. Gourmet Gallery is open as well, still charging their exorbitant prices for groceries, which are higher than ever and there is a laundromat here which I can imagine is off the hook busy because unless you have mega generator that can support 220V appliances, you can't use your washer or dryer at home.
The parking lot fills up quickly and the security officer patrolling are like Nazis, you will not get away with parking for more than your allotted two hours or with making up your own parking which is popular here on St. Thomas. The minus one star is for the way the shops here price everything, its waaayyyyyyyy tooooooooo high. I understand people with mega yachts have a lot of money, but the common folk which are residents keep your businesses going for the most part. I think ya/ll need a reality check on the pricing for what you are selling which is 20%-30% more than anywhere else on island.
If you are docked at crown bay which I'm told cruise ships wont be in this area for a while, this is worth a quick trip...
Read moreCrown Bay Marina is a nice facility with fixed concrete docks that are in good shape. The marina is situated right between the cruise ship port and the industrial shipping container port, so it is not so peaceful and there is noise most all of the time. The dirt and dust from the container shipping port is alot and keeping you boat clean while in this marina is daily work. There are also a couple ferries that use this maring (water island and St John ferry) so expect a lot of boat traffic in and out of the marina. Great dinghy dock within walking distance to a good, well-stocked grocery store (Pueblo) and other services (restaurants, hair cuts, etc). Our stay (one month at the beginning of 2025) was pleasant although the restaurant (Tickles) was shuttered and the Laundromat was under construction (you can walk to another close by though). The bath facilities were average as well. The marina is very pricey (I paid over $3 a foot a night) for what it is and what you get. The office and dock staff were very friendly, helpful, and...
Read moreWorst Marina ever. Owner is Anti boater. Freighters dock just a few hundred yards away. Dirty with black soot on the boat, and on Sundays extremely noisy from offloading cargo. Great staff though. Lost grocery store facilities a couple of years ago and have not replaced. Provisioning a couple of blocks away, but it’s a dirty, smelly market and hot. Marine store has great staff but very over priced. Probably the only bright spot is Tickles. Great little restaurant, but like everything else in the...
