Hair Loss for almost $200, that's what I got at Element 5 Salon! My family has been going to this salon for almost a year. We enjoyed the people and thought the results were good. Then, it took a horrible turn. In March I went in for my normal partial highlight and root color. When the root color was put on my scalp started burning. My hair dresser had stepped away, so I asked someone to get her. She came back and took a look. She said there wasn't anything on the skin, and I had a few minutes left. I suffered thorough it. Well, my scalp was itchy for a few days. The spot that had been burning calmed down. I went on about my life. My hair seemed thin and almost straw like. I assumed it was age.
Fast forward to May. I went in to get my hair done. The highlights went fine. The stylist and I even talked about my previous reaction, but she never bothered to look at the spot that had burned. The second the root color went on my head was on fire. I said it had to come off. The stylist put cooling gel on but wanted me to leave the color on. The stylist went to get someone with more experience. I asked to take the color off, right away. Finally she heard me and took it off. She went back and looked at the original burn spot from March. Low and behold I had lost all the hair in the spot. And- there has been ZERO regrowth. Why this wasn't checked before more color was applied to my head, I will never know. The color come off, but the burning and itchy didn't stop.
The stylists got together and decided I must have a PPD allergy. They recommended I put sweet in low in the color next time. NEXT TIME= you made me lose my hair, my scalp is on fire and you think I am coming back? When I got up to leave I was in complete shock. They actually charged me FULL PRICE- over $170 to burn my scalp and go bald!!! I wanted out of there so badly, I just paid and left. I even tipped her. It was like an out-of-body experience. I went to my doctor to get a full workup. By the time I got there my face was numb and tingly, like I had seen the dentist. My scalp, more accurately a huge circle on the top of my head, would not stop burning and itching. ( I added a picture- check out the size of the bald spot!)
The doctor gave me a shot, ten days of steroids and Benadryl to calm down the reaction. It has been a huge ordeal. We will not know for several weeks if I will lost the hair on the top of my head. The doctor says there is nothing they can do about the hair loss, only treat the burning, itching and numbness.
And still not one time has the salon or stylist tried to contact me!!! They showed my bald spot off, talked about my reaction with each other, charged me full price and then couldn't call to check on me? Horrible customer service and a complete disregard for...
Read moreNever go here! I spent $600 and two 5 hour visits for orange hair. I decided to stick with it for one more visit. I was told by the stylist at the end of my second visit that I could come back any time for my next treatment as my hair was in no way damaged. I was going to wait three weeks for the next visit , but my hair was such a ridiculous shade, I called back the same day and moved the appointment up to 8 days later. The salon stated they called me and told me to reschedule. I did not get the voice mails. I did however get 3 confirmatory text messages for the appointment 8 days later. I thought nothing about their being a problem based on those text confirmations as well as my stylists statements of”come back whenever you want, your hair is in no way damaged” those words are verbatim out of her lips! Upon arrival at my appointment,I am told they have a rule that they cannot do the service that day. Nor was I offered any color toning correction for the orange hair this stylist gave me. Also, her demeanor during each service was terrible. She has an arrogance yet she obviously cannot even tone any brassiness out, nor can she do any proper balayage. It is a debacle. I tried to stick with this place hoping eventually, she could turn the train wreck around, but both the customer service as well as the actual skill is completely lacking here. I will leave this review as many places as possible to prevent someone in the future from having to deal with what I dealt with. The stylist lied and said she told me two week minimum for my return visit. She most certainly did no such thing. She said come back whenever you want, your hair is not damaged at all. Then lied to her owner manager to her and to my face saying she never said that. Wrong. She absolutely did. I do not handle having my integrity questioned lightly. It’s the ultimate slap in the face. If she had told me two weeks I had to wait , Why the $&@# would I have scheduled it 8 days later? I’m not stupid nor do I want my time wasted. My guess is all these 5 star...
Read moreBrittany severs did an amazing job on my hair on my hair! I am a golden yellow blonde via years of personally done store brand highlights and super sun in spray... I was starting to look like a yellow crayola crayon. I started browsing Pinterest for blond hair tone ideas and fell in love with ash blonde. Then I noticed all the rage about Bayalage. There are so many hairdressers listed in Charlotte and everyone wants you to see "their girl", but I was on a mission to find the right one. I went right to instagram and searched through charlotte hairstylists. Brittany's pictures were proof of her talented haircoloring and cutting skills. I texted her right through Instagram and she immediately answered and gave me her phone number and said we could set up a consultation. I went in and received the price quote and made an appointment at my convenience. I was nervous that morning, I have ALOT of hair and this was a major change!. I could not be more happier, even now three weeks later, I still love my hair, I love the tone. I had a minor trim done too while I was there. I had showed her many pictures and she gave me exactly what I wanted! As an unexpected bonus, she curled my entire head and made the most beautiful beachy waves! And then of course I got to be an instagram...
