LA Fitness — Attraction in Charlotte

Great Gym!!!

The 3 levels with Track and Movie Cardio Room is Awesome!!!

LA Fitness should use this club as THE NEW ERA Club Model, with Only (1) one little difference... ADD BASKETBALL

THERE'S NO BASKETBALL GYM AT THIS LOCATION.

I run and get my cardio in by shooting hoops and there's no basketball gym here.

I understand that it was not ORIGINALLY designed by LA Fitness, but when they took over the club, THEY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THE 10 "USELESS" PARKING SPACES LOCATED ON THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE CLUB AND ADDED A BASKETBALL GYM..

With watching them convert "Old" Walmart & K-Mart stores into LA Fitness Clubs, adding a basketball gym on the right side SHOULD be a piece of cake..

And with that being said... MORE LOCATIONS in the Charlotte NC area..

I travel a lot, up and down the East Coast. I love the fact that when I am in Florida, Georgia, D.C. Maryland and states further North, I can usually find an LA Fitness and get in a work out, while on the road. This club is Awesome with regards to its layout, but NO BASKETBALL, and ITS THE ONLY ONE IN CHARLOTTE, NC. ?????

When I Travel through Cities in Florida and throughout Atlanta, there's an LA Fitness on just about every corner.

When I'm in Charlotte, Theres Only (1) ONE Club... I have to travel all the way from CONCORD MILLS... WHY ????.. Why wouldn't you have a club near Concord Mills. MALLS, AN AIRPORT, RACE TRACKS

Cumon Man... It's 2018 Get With It. !!

To Corporate Planet Fitness is everywhere in North Carolina. If you want to compete, you need to step up your game by ADDING MORE LOCATIONS IN CHARLOTTE NC.

(Hint) HHGregg is out of business.. Look into buying those old stores and converting them into LA Fitness.. and becoming relevant in North Carolina and South Carolina.. PLEASE

If you had a basketball gym I would have given THIS particular club 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆

I signed up at this LA Fitness location (12325 Copper Way) and visited maybe 15-20 times during the course of about a month. I primarily used to pool to exercise until disgusting water conditions forced me to cancel my membership. Many days, I arrived at the pool, and didn't swim after seeing the murkiness of the water. After looking up the CDC Health Inspection records for this particular LA Fitness location, my concerns were quickly validated.

Fun fact... This pool has been shut down four separate times in the past two years by the health department because of unsanitary conditions. (I can't post a link here, but look it up for yourself... its publicly available online) According to CDC records, this location was inspected approx two times each year. Following every single inspection since 2021, this pool was forced to close for 30 days due to unsanitary conditions. And because it is closed after every inspection since 2021, it seems clear to me that management has no intention of solving the problem.

Here are the last four inspection reports from the Mecklenburg County Health Dept.

1/6/23 - Inspector's notes: Immediate suspension issued for water quality. Pool MUST REMAIN CLOSED until suspension is lifted by Health Dept.

7/7/2022 - Inspector's notes: Pool water murky at time of visit. Scum layer observed on pool wall. Immediate Suspension issued. Pool MUST REMAIN CLOSED until suspension is lifted by Health Dept.

1/6/22 - Inspector's notes: Immediate Suspension issued. Pool MUST REMAIN CLOSED until suspension is lifted by Health Dept. Scum layer observed on pool wall.

2/16/21 - Inspector's notes: Immediate Suspension for water quality. Changed to "E" Immediate Suspension status. Pool must remain closed until suspension is lifted by Health Dept.

Guess I should have looked this info up BEFORE I paid their fees. Money wasted, and I kinda feel like I need a penicillin shot now after being in this...

I’m typing this review as I’m showering from the very showers of this gym.

I’ve been holding off writing a review because I wanted to give this gym a chance but no more. This gym, especially the showers are disgusting in every sense of the word. When I tell you guys these showers aren’t washed in weeks, that is truly the case! I’ve seen hairs, dye bottles, bags, empty body wash bottles, bloody bandages, weird substances on the shower walls, and more! The grime, scum, and probably cum (sorry but I’m blunt) accumulate in these showers. Today was the last straw when I walked into the shower, and as I was, I saw little drain flies flying around the walls and ground, which was the first time I’ve seen them here but I’m not surprised. By how quick these things multiply, we’ll have a ton of them in just a few days. Disgusting!

It smells like funk, gunk and junk in here. Like a constant body odor or something of that nature! I’m sure in the cracks of the shower stalls there’s mold and other stuff just lurking! People have skin conditions, there’s bodily fluids that fall onto these showers, accumulated nasty stuff that I shouldn’t have to shower with. There’s no reason why the maintenance/cleaning crew is this horrible and uncaring when this is a heavily trafficked gym and I’m sure these members pay a hefty price to be a member here! Like WTF! the other day there was a huge leak that took place in the men’s locker room that had taken over the tile floor and carpets. And they are STILL working on it! That’s not only a leak, it’s a safety hazard. Of how much ground that leak covered, there’s no reason there was ONLY TWO yellow watch your step signs! These people are ridiculous! Get it right, I chose y’all over other gyms here!
