It is with great disappointment that I find myself writing this review about a gym manager who has seemingly taken on the role of a drama queen rather than fulfilling their professional duties. The individual in question seems to revel in power-tripping and creating unnecessary drama, which greatly undermines the overall gym experience.
First and foremost, a gym should be a place where members feel motivated, supported, and encouraged in their fitness journey. Unfortunately, this manager's behavior reflects quite the opposite. Instead of fostering a positive and inclusive environment, they seem more interested in asserting their authority and showcasing their dominance over gym-goers and staff alike.
The power trip becomes evident through a series of unnecessary rules and regulations that seem more designed to exert control rather than promote safety or efficient operation like bossing people around the coveted massage chairs of hanging around certain areas just awkwardly glaring at people when they should be focusing on cleaning the equipment. These rules are often enforced with an air of superiority, leaving members feeling intimidated and unwelcome. Instead of being a source of guidance and support, this manager appears to relish in making others feel inferior and powerless.
Moreover, the gym manager's penchant for playing the victim is both frustrating and unprofessional. Whenever faced with legitimate concerns or constructive criticism from members or staff, they respond by painting themselves as the target of unwarranted attacks. This defensive behavior only serves to perpetuate a toxic atmosphere and hinders any potential for open dialogue and resolution.
Furthermore, the manager's flair for drama adds an unnecessary layer of tension to the gym environment. They consistently prioritize personal conflicts and gossip over the well-being and comfort of their members. This behavior not only distracts from the primary purpose of a gymâto promote health and fitnessâbut also cultivates an unpleasant and negative atmosphere that discourages many from continuing their fitness journey.
It is disheartening to witness a gym manager who seems more invested in their personal power dynamics and ego than in creating a supportive and enjoyable fitness community. It is important for gym management to lead by example, fostering an environment of mutual respect and encouragement. Sadly, this manager falls short on these fronts, perpetuating an atmosphere of stress, negativity, and division.
In conclusion, the power-tripped gym manager's inclination towards playing the victim and creating unnecessary drama detracts significantly from the overall gym experience. Their behavior disrupts the positive atmosphere that should prevail within a fitness facility and undermines the personal growth and well-being of its members. It is my hope that the owner takes swift action to address these issues and restore the gym's reputation as a welcoming and supportive place for all, for a truly humble judgement free zone free from persecution and discrimination. All the other Planet Fitness facilities are a lot cleaner and the staff treats my comfort and gym experience with a positive drama free attitude. I will not be returning to this location until proper leadership is restored. I love all your endless "cardio equipment".....We are now Fans of Planet Fitness.The only suggestion I can make:Your dispensers for hand cleansing are usually "empty", and there is a need for more of them. When I am in the 30 minute room, I have to walk to another part of the gym to use one, and it's always empty. I then have to walk all the way to the front door, which is how far apart they are.And, disinfectant wipes are far more functional than the "paper towels and squirt bottle"....I know that costs you money, but those paper towels are worthless. Your club is everything my wife and I want for health, wellness and a complete workout facility. The manager of the club we go to is a big part of why we love going to that specific location. His name is Braylon Harrison. He keeps that club spotless. He is always walking around to make sure everything is working properly, and he is always friendly and available to answer any questions anyone might have. I have owned numerous business's during my lifetime, and I can tell you that people like Braylon are rare. I have employed more than 200 people in my career and I know a good person when I see them. He is so focused on doing the best he can do, which is reflective of the environment and the attitude of all the other employees.    Read moreToday 4/17/2024 just goes to show how great I think this Planet Fitness is. I was finished with my workout and I got off the treadmill to get a wet paper towel to wipe down the machine. I usually leave my phone to remember the machine I was on. Well I got back to my machine and it was gone. A mother and daughter who just came in and saw me looking started to help me look. I went to the front desk (which I was not too far from to begin with) and told the young man what happened. Nathan (the young man) jumped into action. He called the phone (with no avail). He went and looked around the machine, knelt to the floor to see if it went under a nearby machine, went to get gloves and searched the garbage all the while reassuring me it was no problem (me apologizing to him for going through all this trouble). Well aprox.12 minutes later it was found on the treadmill in front of another patron. Only problem is I was searching the eliptical machines. How did I mess that up (a whole nother long story)? Thank you to the mom and daughter for helping me look. Thank you to the gentleman who spotted the phone. A Big Huge THANK YOU to NATHAN for going above and beyond to help me! I been to few different locations over the years and they were decent. I must say when getting started at this location aprox the end of June a staff member named Allen/ Alan (hope I spelled it correctly) especially was helpful. He helped me sign up my 13 year old for the free summer program they recently started for teens.which is awesome by the way and my 20 year old sign up for her black card. He also explained to me how to get my membership online as well when I was ready. He is friendly and always has a smile on his face.
