10th & Dairy Apartments — Attraction in Charlottesville

As others have stated, Juan and Steve are the absolute gems at 10th & Dairy. Whenever I leave my apartment, I actually I hope I run into them to say hello. They are always happy to see you regardless of the crisis they are working on at the moment. The amount of dedication and pride they put into their work is evident daily. They always go above and beyond and I don’t know how they do it all with just the two of them maintaining the entire building. I’ve lived at other places that had much larger maintenance and facilities teams for similar building sizes so they must either be magicians or work ridiculous hours! The building does feel like it was rushed to completion, with not the best quality products, so now Juan and Steve are spending their time maintaining and fixing things that shouldn’t be issues this early on. However, the location and staff are fabulous and make it worth it. Additional shout outs go to Cara and Rachel, who are always looking for ways to connect neighbors (whether through monthly events or the community bulletin board) or keeping our building welcoming and also efficient ( the package room is a whirlwind but they are constantly adding in ways to make it easier for package pickup - and drop off for the...

I recently moved to Charlottesville for a new role at the University. After visiting several different sites, I ended up choosing the 10th and Dairy complex, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The location is unbeatable, only 1.2 miles from UVA and nestled in the heart of Charlottesville with easy access to everything the city has to offer (it’s on 3 different bud lines!). The apartment itself is modern, spacious, with big windows and views of the Blue Ridge. It’s also well-maintained with top-notch amenities, charging stations for my EV, and a responsive management team (when my dishwasher was having problems, they came and fixed it the next day 😊). The surrounding neighborhood is vibrant and welcoming, with plenty of dining (the adjoining dining area has many options!), shopping, and entertainment options within walking distance. I moved in to the community 3 months ago and have been enjoying it a lot! The apartment unit is new, modern and clean and the maintainance team is quick and responsive for my request. Shout out to Cara, who made a really seamless and smooth move for me to move in out of state on a weekend.

It’s a generally pretty quiet community to me so far (I don’t really hear much partying noises at all since I moved in). Neighbors here are very friendly and nice too, which I enjoyed a lot.

The one thing I started to notice is the upstairs footstep noises can be pretty loud (both in living room and bedroom) - and it bothers me now and then, especially at night. It might worth noting the residents that try to be considerate walking quietly or wearing slippers in the apartment because sometimes I can even hear items shaking upstairs when they walk.
