Last visit yesterday was absolutely not pleasant. I come every week to SJ to meet someone for a coffee. Up to yesterday I had a nice experience as the stuff was concerned. I understand they have a lot to do and I try to be a patient customer. I like their products and was until yesterday quite satisfied with this place. A part that it becomes very difficult to park. Let's say at 5pm almost impossible. But that's nobody's fault, the place is just popular. They seem to change the stuff very often. Yesterday ( March 7th ) was a bit of surprise as the girl who was making coffees (not the young girl that was taking orders ) was so rude and had quind of mistress attitude. She would call you to take your coffe like you were in school and did something wrong, with that look like "there it is you f.... cofe" . She was so not customer oriented, very loudly commenting, being bossy. At 6,45pm she also very loudly started "informing people who have classes etc " to get ready to leave as the place will be closing in 5 minutes ! She strt putting the chairs up and was very determinant to through everybody out at 7pm precisely. Which she did. This was such a different customer experience from the one the week before, where there was a man working there.some Who is this " new girl" and what is...
Read moreThis is a really great work space as well as a good coffee place.
There are long tables, counters, a few chairs, and a few round tables which you can use to get your work done. The Wi-Fi is fast enough. I didn't experience any significant lag working online, although you might have trouble gaming. I don't know, as I didn't test that.
The coffee is great, and the Baristas seem to care about the quality of their drinks. On a whim I asked if they could do a heart in the foam instead of the pretty little leaf pattern they generally do and they did that very nicely.
There aren't many snacks available here, but since the emphasis is on a large selection of coffees I think that's fine.
There is a Pokestop stop here as well as several stops and gyms on the same block, so you can get a coffee and walk around topping up on items if need be.
There's only one major complaint I have about this location. Parking is very complicated. Because it's such a nice place to work, you might have to park on the street off to the side because they only have a few spots in the actual lot unless you want to risk parking in the pharmacy spaces next door.
This is very annoying, although I want to note that coffee is good enough that most people consider it a worthwhile price...
Read moreNew to Charlottesville, I heard this place has the best coffee. This is true; the coffee is excellent. However, my first time here made me hesitant to come back. The staff is rude, and the system is weird. I asked the worker at the cash register if the coffee sitting there, with no name or any indication of its contents, was mine. She asked the barista, and I thought I heard them say no, it's not, but the lady at the register said yes and told me to take it. The barista then raises their voice and aggressively tells me that it's not my coffee, asking me in an accusatory tone if I had taken a drink. If they had just been more pleasant, it would have been fine, but it was a bummer after a long early shift to be yelled at. If they had a better system and labeled their cups, the grumpy barista wouldn't have to interact with customers, and we could all have a more pleasant experience. Just had to remind myself to stay pleasant because you never know what someone is going through. I'd rather go somewhere with coffee that isn't as good but has friendly staff than go here after a long...
