The is a fair and honest review. I took some time to cool down before I wrote this review but I feel as a consumer it is important to know both good and bad things.
I like to support small business which is why I found a local framer for my fine art print.
End of September, I brought in my art in a $40 IKEA 20 x 28 frame. I picked out a frame, explained what I wanted regarding matting, and that I would use my old frame (which contained a matting already) for my daughter’s poster. I got my quote (it was reasonable) with a turn around time told to me of ‘about 2-3 weeks’. Great!
Time frame came and left. I waited an additional week before calling (hoping to be updated) to check on 10/23.
Owner told me it would be ready for pick up the next day but we were out of town from that point. Fast forward to pick up today 11/01/25…
What a disappointment. While the art in the frame looks fantastic… when I asked for my frame, I was met with ‘Oh! I threw it out.’ from the back of the store. New, framed art is brought out, and I reiterated ‘So, did you say you threw my frame out?’ He said yes. He said he did not remember discussing me keeping the frame.
If customers do not explicitly tell you to throw away their personal property, why as a business owner would you make that decision on your own? Or do it, without asking first, if you cannot remember?
I restated the conversation and he says ‘I have lots of frames’, goes to the back and returns with a yellow old frame and I say ‘No. If you threw my frame away, will you just take off some of the cost of this frame job then to compensate?’
He hesitated, hemmed and hawed. I could see the path we were going down. So, he again leaves to the back returning with MY original frame sans matting and backing. I thought it was thrown out…
WHAT IN THE WORLD? Brings it out in two pieces with nothing else.
We all make mistakes, it happens, I understand that, and I take it into consideration. Even unintentional mistakes happen but when it puts people out of money or without their own belongings at your doing, then, as an ETHICAL business owner… it should be corrected. It was not. What I requested was reasonable, and fair. Not over reaching or asking for free things…
He offered to mat the other poster which I immediately said ‘For free?’ His response, ‘well…’ so NO.
What kind of business loses/misplaces/damages a customer’s personal property and then expects them to pay to replace what the business damaged/lost/misplaced?
By this time I’m fuming… I just said I’m ready for my ticket. I refuse to provide any more personal energy on businesses such as this. It was unacceptable all around. Where did my matting and backing go? Was it used? Or carelessly destroyed? I’ll never know, but it’s slimey business. You should be ashamed and embarrassed of your behavior.
Completely unprofessional.
I’ll never go back.

Read moreWent to get a cheap poster framed to make it look nice for my wife for Christmas. After getting home and checking my finances, being a 1 income household, it just wasn't in the budget to do a nice frame. Called the store and asked to put a stop on it and was giving great service with no issues, the entire experience was extremely pleasant even when canceling an order. While in the store there was great art reasonably priced. When I have something worth putting a nice frame on I will be going here and no where else due to it being locally owned and how great the...
Read moreI brought in two nice frames to have them cut and resized. The proprietor told me it would take a couple of days. I waited three days and returned but he did not have my frames ready when he said he would. I asked for them back and he tried to charge me for taking apart my frame but not re assembling it. When I complained he called me a liar, smashed my frame on the floor and physically assaulted me. I will never do business with this shop again. A...
