Hanbury Village — Attraction in Chesapeake

The best grocery store in my area. I used to frequent the Kroger in Great Bridge for it's convenience but after numerous bad experiences, I started driving the extra few minutes to come here. Game changer!

Look, I know it's just groceries but it's such a nice experience coming here every single time. It's always clean and ALL of the employees are always super friendly and helpful. I don't have to hunt someone down and worry if I'm wasting their time if I have a question. There's usually someone right there asking if they can help me find anything, or just offering a friendly greeting as they replenish their area.

I have the option to use self-checkout if I'd like but I'm not forced to. The cashiers unload the cart for you and never seem bothered by having to do so. On the contrary, they actually seem happy to do it and offer conversation while you're checking out.

Their selection is superb though I do wish they had more of a selection of organic produce.

Their fresh pizza is fantastic if you like a breadier slice than a thinner NY style. You can buy it by the slice or order a whole pie.

With traffic light easy to get into. Not as easy to get out of with incoming traffic right of way. Flow of traffic isn't too bad as long as you avoid the usually backed up left turn from Walgreens or trying to make the left out of the circle to get to the light. Only missing a fast food place, although the Chinese food place is usually pretty quick. Starbucks has a drive through, but closes early. Nacho Grande is a great place to eat Mexican food. Went to Navy Federal, and got through very quickly. I like the shopping center because it has a Walgreens and a Harris teeter. I also like nacho Grande which has a great taco 🌮🌮 Tuesday special. The shopping Center also has a Petco and a very good sushi 🍣🍣🍣 restaurant. It has one of the busier Walgreens, however they move people in and out pretty quick.
