After coming to this place several times, and giving them multiple chances, I won't be back. Only giving 2 stars because one of the employees was quite nice and friendly.
I am a fan of YuGiOh, and while they don't have the biggest selection, they do have an assortment of the latest booster sets and other products.
I came in to get the latest product and on a whim wanted to get a booster box as well, which would have been about 150 total. I also was eyeing a used Nintendo Wii for 80, but wanted to inquire whether it had all of the cords/peripherals. I was told that it should come with it and that it was probably in the back, but when the employee returned, I was told it was missing a critical peripheral. Because it was missing this peripheral, I wanted to haggle a lower price, because the conditions of sale changed. The employee told me they had to call their boss, and I was left to wait.
Left to wait, while they helped another customer who had just walked in, while I had been there for almost 10 or 15 minutes by that point. Fun fact, the customer that walked in was selling some cards, and was offered $15 for one card. After the customer left I heard the employee gloating that it was worth about $50. Real classy. Honestly if you're looking to sell cards, I'd go elsewhere or do it online because the store will rip you off and then gloat about it in front of their customers.
Anyways, after waiting about 20 more minutes while the employee finished the transaction, I got his attention and asked how the call went. I was told that the peripheral was damaged when it was sold to them and that the price takes the missing peripheral into account. Nice bluff, but after being forced to wait for 20 minutes I wanted to still try and make a deal.
I saw a game in their used games, and asked if they could bundle the game for a reduced price to account for the missing peripheral, and was told no, the price is absolute, and the best they could do is bundle a couple cheap accessories like a grip for the controllers.
At this point I walked out of the store, I was ready to spend more than $200 here to support local business, but if you can't keep your story straight about the condition of your inventory, gloat about ripping off your customers, and can't even give me a miniscule discount for selling an incomplete item, then I'm not coming back and I'm making sure any prospective customers know about my experience.
Btw, their prices are pretty bad, I found a complete Nintendo Wii with all peripherals on eBay for 65 with free shipping, and the prices for the cards are cheaper too, even after accounting for shipping. Honestly, with prices like that, I'd expect better customer service, but good job making $35 ripping a customer off, you just lost out on over $200 in a single potential sale and the opportunity for a repeat customer, hope it...
Read moreI used to go here all the time to play magic whenever I needed a card, played during the commander events, and pre releases. But had to stop going cause of school and started going to other stores. Now I only go whenever I’m in need of a card. But everytime I go it feels like it goes downhill more and more. Everytime I order a card online somehow they don’t have it even if the website says they did. I can understand if it’s a random rare card and the website has a mistake. But recently I ordered a card that the website had 8 different versions so I bought the first one on the website. I go to pick it up and they told me they didn’t have the card. Instead offering me a different version of the card the employee just walked away from me and started helping other customers out. As someone who goes to every other game store in the area to buy cards every other place offers you a different copy if they don’t have the exact one they have. ESPECIALLY since they had 8 other versions online. I checked the website and it still says they have the card I...
Read moreAwesome shop for like minded adult nerds to come hangout and meet new friends. I started coming here a few months ago when I found out they have single cards available for the One Piece game. Stayed and continued to shop here almost exclusively for my one piece cards as they have the best prices that I have personally found. Was originally going to gauntlet until I compared the prices, especially on the new set EB-02. Gauntlet is trying to sell them for $200 a box when this amazing shop has them for only $165.
Also the people that come out for the tournaments here, are super nice and patient with new players to the game. I originally only started with the one piece card game as a way to get back into collecting something again, only to find out the game itself is actually super fun. I have met a great group of people through this store and will continue on with my card collecting/playing...
