Del Taco — Restaurant in Chesterfield Township

Wow I can't believe I drive over an hour combined (back and forth) and pass like ten taco bells and other mexican choices to go to this Del Taco.

The food and the service has gone way down hill, but the attractiveness of the employees has gone up.

Where to start there was no one in the drive thru and it was around dinner time. Drove up to silence for what was several minutes and then a girl voice came on and asked me to wait and I waited for what seemed like about 3-5 more minutes before they were ready to take my order.

Now the really bad stuff. They have a stupid menu that only gets more complex I ordered or thought I ordered the Carne Asada stuffed steak quesadilla taco but instead got the nasty and much smaller Carbon taco.

I never uttered the word carbon but got that nasty thing instead which stunk because that was the majority of my order.

It took what seemed like a longer than usual wait for my food to get prepared and I would been cool except for getting nasty carbon steak tacos instead of what I wanted and thought I had them order for me.

What a waste of a lot of time my dog was even reluctant to eat the meat in the carbon taco and I gladly shared.

For the love of GOD please have a simpler way to order so that one doesn't get the wrong items? I got what apparently passes for street corner all meat and onions and some nasty green spice no cheese no lettuce no flavor I wanted to put inside my stomach.

There was like no one at this location me and apparently another order inside.

Even the del tacos are smaller and skimpy compared to what they once were.

I spent almost 20 bucks and I'm still hungry and bummed.

I think I will never go again to DEL TACO because its just not worth the trouble which is a shame because the food use to be...

The workers were extremely rude. Never even said "Hi. Welcome to Del Taco." What we got was "Are you ready to order?" The girl taking our order raised her voice at my wife even because although it said on the kids menu that there was a kids burrito, the worker said "we don't have that. We said, "well, it's on your menu" She says "where? Show me!" We show her and she proceeds to say "I dont know why the menu says it, but we only have kids tacos. No burritos." How are you a Mexican style restaurant without burritos??? We said "ok, so we'll just get kids quesadillas instead. The girl said "ok, hold on hold hold on because I already put you in for two kids soft tacos because they are the same thing as burritos without the beans. Give me a second to take them off the order." After finally finishing our order, she basically threw the kids cups on the counter. My wife said "Maam, we wanted milk for the kids." The girl says "We dont have milk. (This time asks the manager who just confirms) Claims " the sign is wrong. It's a corporate thing and we are indivially owned." We said, well, we already paid for the meals but my kids dont drink anything but water or milk. She says "well, you can get water right there." We will never be going back to this location....

I ordered 6 beef and cheese burritos, what I received was beans and cheese... I drove 40 minutes from the north of that location and received exactly the opposite of what I wanted. Not the only time something there was not right. The food is good. The service is great normally. Today was one of those rare occasions that it was wrong. I got home and was extremely disappointed. I'm sure it was a communication error just amplified by the distance driven for this food. Better luck next time I guess. Make sure to have them repeat the order back to you.

The corporate office had contacted me and made the frustrating visit much more palatable! I explained what had happened and they made everything correct, going above and beyond what was to be expected and reasonable. Very upstanding company and take customer service very seriously.
