I came here because I have never had Chicago style deep dish pizza and I wanted to give it a try. The staff inside were friendly and helpful. I ordered their smallest Chicago style deep dish and I wasn't able to finish half of it. I ordered pepperoni and mushroom, I probably should not have gotten the mushroom. Mushroom might have been from a can I should have asked, but apparently you don't want wet things added to a deep dish pizza, but I don't think it adversely affected it. There's a lot going on in a deep dish pizza. It takes 45 minutes to bake. Off hand it looks like there was a bottom layer of pepperoni and maybe mushrooms, a whole bunch of cheese, and a layer of sauce on the top. The crust is the standard pizza crust. Some people don't like Chicago style pizza, strictly a preference for some, but if you've never had one, this is your chance. If you've never had Chicago style pizza, just try it. I really enjoyed mine, and they seem to do it pretty well. I'm traveling without my family, I saw was not worried about gluten free, but they do have a gluten-free crust. The gluten-free crust does contain cheese. Many celiacs cannot have dairy so that would not be possible for you. I don't think I'll try it again, but knowing what I know now if I still hadn't tried one, I would still give it a go. And especially if you are in the area here, this is much closer than Chicago. I knew I could never finish that pizza so I didn't try any of their other items. Their salads look really good and they have some kind of special chicken that I simply didn't have enough stomach space to try.

I’ve been searching for a Chicago style pizza location in Southeast Michigan for quite some time. Thankfully one of the groups on Facebook suggested father and son pizzeria. I could not be more excited to have found this establishment. I called to place an order (for some reason I couldn’t do a Chicago style online) and the girl that answered was super friendly. I drove from the Rochester Hills area and it was well worth the travel. By the time we got home, Our pizza was so fresh, not overly stuffed and did not feel super heavy after eating one slice. We did a split pizza in half, one side with the different kinds of meats, and the other side was more vegetarian with pepperoni. Chef’s kiss! You have a customer for life!

I tried this place because of their good reviews (as Im not from around) went in person to place my order. Medium pizza, with pepperoni and mushrooms, I asked for thin crust and extra crispy. Staff was friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. She tells me its gonna be 20 min because the pie needs to be in extra longer. Get to the hotel with my pizza, no pepperoni and not crispy at all. Call them back and they apologized and offer to get another pizza at a different day. I told the lady on the phone I was submitting a review simply because their lack of attention to customers orders. Im not interested in coming back. During my stay here, I would try other places instead.

I write my review as I stand inside the establishment, shocked at the complete disregard for safety of customers that Father and Son's Pizza is taking during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are currently 9 employees behind the counter, all within one foot of each other not wearing masks and taking precautions to ensure the safety of themselves and customers. The woman who took my payment, after touching my credit card, went straight to putting together boxes without washing her hands. I am able to see another employee drinking from a cup and leaving it on the counter where pizzas are made. A sign on the front of the door boasts that masks are not required and customers are walking in and out without taking any precaution.

I am a huge fan of the product that the store produces but likely will not be returning due to the extreme disregard for safety and infection control that has been displayed today. I urge those with compromised immune systems to avoid the establishment during the pandemic and to exercise caution when visiting in the future.

Update: My order was also incorrect, missing toppings. They did give a discount for the error, but the entire experience was a...

The Employees were clean, professional and the restaurant was clean so I give 5 stars for all that. The food, well the deep dish Chicago was just ok, it way overpriced at $30 for a medium three toppings. I payed that much for real Chicago pizza in Chicago at lou Malnati's. The bottom crust was way too wet and not crispy, I had to run it through my oven at home to crisp it up. The three of us that ate it, we never ate pizza from here and decided to try it based on the Google reviews. It wasn't the worst pizza but it also wasn't in my top five. I personally wouldn't order pizza here again but like I said, it wasn't the worst. It wasn't so bad that I had to feed it to the dogs like I've done other places. The prices are outrageous try some Italian seasoning, a little sugar, basil oregano and rosemary in your sauce. 1st...
