My son and I had an unfortunate experience with this theatre the other day. On December 26th at 4:10pm my son and husband went to go see the movie sing and unfortunately the theatre was having difficulties because 75% through the movie it shut off and they were unable to get it back up again. At the time the theatre did the right thing and gave us all vouchers to come back and enjoy another movie. Well fast forward to this past Saturday January 7th this time my son and I returned to the Chesterfield Mjr to see the movie Sing again however I had forgotten the voucher that they had given out however, I did have the ticket stubs and receipt for the previous movie. After explaining the incident to the clerk he told me know problem and he would get his manager. After waiting nearly 15 minutes the manager came out and told me that there was no reports of any movie difficulties that day...hmmm...thankfully my 5 yr old son was very obliging and corrected her by telling her what he had experienced. She then told us because I had waited over a week that there was nothing she could do...of which my response was "this is ridiculous" the manager promptly rolled her eyes at me and we were on our way. I just can't believe in his day and age when customer service is such a high priority that there are manager like this...and my 5yr old had to experience it first had. Thankfully with the emagine macomb so close my son and I were able to enjoy the movie again and I explained my story to there manager who just so happened to be greeting customers when we walked in and he gave us complimentary drinks for our trouble. Hopefully the Chesterfield MJR can learn from my experience and better treat their customer before you loose all your business to...
Read moreRuined my date night with my wife and they could honestly not careless. Was there last night and about 35 min into the movie the power went out. Doesn't appear that any other business lost power in the area. Me and my wife rarely get a chance to get out of the house with the kids so it's a special occasion when ever we can. The staff seemed absolutely clueless and had zero plan for when this happened. I asked if they could restart the movie when the power came back on they said " we don't know how" i asked for a refund they said " i have to get approval from a manager that isn't around ". The power outage isn't what I'm upset about I'm upset because of how horrible unprepared they were. After over an hour of waiting they got ahold of a manager i got a refund. The employee said they were sorry and told me to call the following day and that the manager usually gives vouchers for an additional free movie because of the inconvenience. I called the today and the manager (hunter) couldn't care less, no voucher given and no apology. I'll drive the extra distance and goto emagine from now on. What a absolutely horrible customer experience. You ruin my entire night, you keep me waiting around for hours and don't care at all. I live less than a mile from this movie theatre and were a family of 5 I'm sure they will lose thousands over the years from us not going although they still probably don't care. Im also going to relay this information to my friends and extended family in the area. I hope none of them ever use this movie theatre again. Im also going to contact corporate. I will also be reporting...
Read moreThis place is in shambles. The girl working the ticket booth was friendly and helpful. Goes down hill from there. Floors are nasty all the seats are falling apart. Everything you do is confusing. You walk up and order your concession. There is no one there. I had to yell for someone. There is no candy at the counter you have to get out of line to pick it out and come back. You have to add your own butter to popcorn that has been sitting in bags(stale) I did ask for popcorn out of the popper that was just popped and they said no. The pretzels I ordered were half freezer burnt the other half were good. Their fountain machines do not work so you have to fill your own in the hallway where there is no where you can set your popcorn to do it because all the trash sitting on the trash can which is the only option. Yes we had to set it in the floor to fill our drinks. Every cup holder had not been cleaned and was full of.mold. The seats are falling apart. Some didn't recline correctly. Screen and audio glitching in and out of sync. For refills there was a line of people waiting while the 2 employees were behind the popcorn machine talking. When the movies was over 3 employees came in with brooms and dust pans but nothing to clean or sanitize with which is why I assume all the cup holders are full of mold. This is not the experience to bring movie theaters back. Place is nasty. You have to do everything yourself. Not sure what the point is of going out if I'm not getting service and paying all that money.
Added: They sent me free passes and I had a worst experience the second time. Wont...
