McKinley Park Ice Skating Rink — Attraction in Chicago

This is a much better rink than downtown. It is close to a full size hockey rink. The staff is generally friendly. It opens for free skating right after school and there is hardly anyone there. Often there will only be a few people in the ice for the first hour or two. We have so much fun with the ice to ourselves. They have skate helpers which makes it much easier to learn to skate. The best part is that it is free to skate if you bring your own skates. We come here 3 to 4 times a week...

Very fun place to skate. They only charge for the skate rental, and you have to sign up online in order to skate. If you own your own skates, skating is free. It isn't crowded, which gives you all the room to skate or fall like me, lol. The employees are friendly...
