Chop Suey city — Restaurant in Chicago

I’ve tried a few chinese places and there is definitely bad chinese take out. So i usually dont venture trying new places if i find a solid spot but this particular day i had an itch i absolutely had to scratch. I’ve been craving black pepper chicken but was also looking for other food items to complete my order and chop suey city was the only one that had the combination of food i was looking for. Went ahead and ordered it and it was done and delivered within 30min. Everything was packaged well with no spillage. Went and opened up everything and the portions were very reasonable and for the price my gal and I were very pleased! We tried all of our food and definitely enjoyed every bite. I am definitely adding Chop Suey City to list of Chinese food places to frequent. That being only one other Chinese restaurant lol. Thanks again!

Let me preface and say that I am a new customer and never ordered from here before, so I know nothing about tray sizes or how much a portion size is. I wanted to know how much food to order, so I asked them how much chicken is in a small tray of orange chicken that cost $32.

2 ladies would not tell me the weight, dimensions of the tray, or how much people it would feed. One lady told me I have to tell her how many pieces someone eats. I said 10 pieces for a serving, she then responded that she doesn’t know.

I talked to a man about what the tray size is, and he said he couldn’t they don’t do that kind of stuff.

The part I did not appreciate was when they were yelling at me and telling me that I had to come down and see for myself.

Their food might be good, but I may never know.

Don't let the look Turn you away. The food inside is GOOD. The lunch special has gone down in size but it is plenty of food and I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with shrimp fried rice but I wasn't disappointed. This Very small place with no bathroom no seating area at the moment. Had a great beef and broccoli the fried rice wasn't the best but the size of the chicken inside is safe for children. The gravy is a little thick which I love and the rice was better with the gravy. Didnt come with a pop 😕 but its not advertised to so yay for the gas station across the street. Staff is friendly and I'm sure if I had questions she would have been knowledgeable and nice. Friendly when I had requested on no onions. Big egg roll delicious. Not price gouging.
