Sandbox VR — Attraction in Chicago

Amazing place for family and friends! Came here to celebrate my birthday while we were visiting Chicago. First we did squid game which was extremely fun especially with the younger kids. The experience was well made, realistic, and overall just a fun and enjoyable experience filled with laughter and smiles.

2 days later we did Deadwood Valley which we were a bit scared to do because of the younger kids but even though it was highly intense, everyone had fun. In terms of fear factor- there were no jump-scares or really anything like just outright scary but the scariest thing is when the zombies jump onto your head and all you see is there face in the headset. Would really only recommend if your kids are okay with gore and the overwhelming amount of bloody zombies, chaos, and random gory monsters in super close to their face. If you want hardcore horror than maybe try a different Deadwood game.

The staff was incredibly nice, huge shout out to Rebecca, Caleb, and George but especially Rebecca for monitoring our room and having to deal with all our screaming 😓 It was clean and the effort put into the vr games and overall facility was high quality.

The only downsides were that the games are pretty pricy which is understandable because of the equipment, the tech, etc, but still would be a little nice with some occasional coupons for like birthdays so others can also enjoy the game. On our second game they informed us the next time we booked we could get the room 20% off but it was our last day in Chicago and our previous room host did not inform us of this so it would be nice to have a little more consistency in the coupons. But other than that there was really no downsides, only the occasional technical difficulties but the staff was quick to help and paused the game.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Sandbox VR for groups of family and friends that like have immersive or intense gaming experiences. Shout out to the wonderful and kind staff and hope to...

I was very surprised by my visit here. I cannot believe the experience that I had. No, I know this sounds negative, but I actually just wanted you to read the actual review instead of just giving over all the other ones. Alejandro went above and beyond to make sure that me and My Friend had a great experience. This was my first virtual reality experience and I only planned to pay for one session but after the first session, Alejandro saw something in me that I couldn’t see it myself. He knew that I wanted more and he shared with us another room where we actually got to do a little bit more of a different type of activity. We said yes, And he made it happen 😊 not to mention that we were running late and when I called, he said no problem that he would make it Happen.

I will most definitely be coming back here again 😊 And if you’re his boss and you wanna verify this to see that it wasn’t a friend of his that wrote this because it sounds like Alejandro knows who I am. It’s because he does. It’s because he knew that I wanted more and he knew that as a stranger he could help me and have me enjoying my first virtual reality experience by actually speaking up and suggestion which one I should do and giving me and my friend from Honduras, an awesome experience so even though I don’t personally know Alejandro now I feel like I do because he gave us a very awesome experience at sandbox VR.

We have done this a few times and really liked this. So we decided to celebrate our little girl's birthday here with her friends. The game was fun as usual, but this is definitely not a place for birthday. When we made reservation, we were told there will be a small room with simple decoration for us to have birthday cake, and we could use it for at least 30 minutes after the game. So today after the game, when we were having the cake, we were told to leave. When I told them we were promised 30 minutes, the manager came and told us there was no note made on the booking and we could only use the room (which is not even a room) during the game. He literally said" it's now your words against my word, and there is no note on your booking". He said the charges was cleaning fee only. This was very different from what I was told, if I knew we could not even have time for a birthday cake, I would just take the kids elsewhere. I explicitly told them I am willing to pay extra to use the space for an hour but was told the $50 cleaning is what is required.

We ended up rushing the girls out. The game was fun, but not a good option to...
