DePaul Art Museum — Attraction in Chicago

@depaulartmuseum was The last study visit within my US research journey this year. Closing my @the_fulbright_program with this great institution was a cherry on the top. 🍒 Thank you @ionitbehar and her colleagues for a great discussion about how audience engagement is in a center of DePaul Museum’s activities and how they actually thing about different target groups from the planning of the exhibitions through programming to data and visitor’s feedback. The museum is awesome, it has participatory activities as a part of the exhibition and similar to @nublockmuseum the current exhibition deals with tough topic, so I appreciate a small flyer with listed activities how to absorb your thoughts and emotions after visit. I do really appreciate their visitor research done in cooperation with @msichicago about belonging in the museum space. Atrocious “museum” for guilt-ridden undergrads to virtue signal themselves through crude shapes and colors. Regardless of my interpretation of the political propaganda, I mean “art,” the fact that this building exists is a disgrace.

Do a little research and learn how much this place cost to build, why it was so expensive and how corruption in the city proliferates through this “educational establishment.”

I was disappointed because the hours on the website showed that the museum is open till 7pm but when we arrived on Wednesday (a day before Thanksgiving) at 3pm it was already closed. There was a white sheet of paper taped to the front door saying that due to the holiday the museum will reopen next Wednesday. Why didn't they say it on their website? What a waste of a...
