Base on the reviews we decided to try this restaurant. We called to see if they deliver they stated yes with Caviar, so we downloaded the App and place an order. It took Over an hour and 20 minutes for delivery to arrive , just to get a COLD pizza, burned crust, extremely thin and very soggy middle. When I called the restaurant a female employee stated Caviar delivers on their bikes so that’s the reason why pizza was cold! Why wouldn’t you inform the customer that when I first called asking if you deliver?! A wood fire pizza delivered on a bike for over an hour in 5 degree weather La Crosta?? The employee adviced me to contact Caviar and provided a phone # to Caviar just to find out she gave me the restaurants # I was calling! I called back again and she provided a drivers # that he was not our driver. Called back for the 3rd time the owner Dino answered stating that he has been receiving complains about delivering cold food and he will have a talk with Caviar on Monday! You been having complaints in regards to this issue and you haven’t resolved this issue yet but keep delivering cold food and not aware the customers pizza is delivered in bikes?! I said this experience needs a review, Dino’s respond was you want a waste your time writing a review? I said well, i already waisted my time talking to your employee for 10 min, another 7 min with Caviar and I waisted my time talking to you for over 6 minutes which you don’t show no concerns on your service at all but you care about my review? Dino then offered us a $50 dine in credit, so I don’t write a review?! I immediately rejected, We do NOT need free dinners, all we wanted was a hot, tasty pizza that he failed to service. This call was not in order to get free dinners or credits... this call was base on a food you served and not even once said I apologize, I will make you a pizza now and have it delivered by me or an employee, that’s a customer service and a owner who cares for his customers! We would have appreciated that... knowing that he cares for customers since he hasn’t resolve delivery issues that has been occurring. Definitely skip this restaurant you will do yourself a favor, there are other pizza places that will care what they serve and appreciate your business and provide a top notch service! I don’t understand why this place has this rating?!!.... wonder if Dino offers them free dine in credit like he did to us for...
Read moreNot sure if the food is any good, was never delivered. I can tell you that their customer service is poor. We are new to Chicago and thought we’d try them out (Uber Eats). Delivery came, and I knew when I saw him walking into the building, something was wrong. I had ordered 3 pizzas and the young man came with 1 box. I told him, there should be 2 more boxes. He said, the kitchen only gave me this. I looked at the ticket order, my name, the 3 pizzas I had ordered and had been charged for are right there listed in the ticket order. Call the restaurant, speak to a “Joseph “, he first tells me that they do not have an order for me, I then give him the ticket number, he says that there still has been no orders. I explain that my account has been charged from their restaurant and I have proof with their receipt that they did get my order on line. After off and on of 10 minutes. He tells me that he found the order and that it would take them 2 hours to make the pizzas. I tell him, 1 pie was delivered but I don’t know which one it was, can you tell me what it is? He says no, you need to open the box up and tell us if it’s what you ordered. I said, I don’t want to open it, he said again open it, I did and it was not my order, it was a mushroom pizza. He then tells me to have the Uber delivery person, return the pizza and then they would make my order? WTH? The delivery guys says I can’t return it, I have other stops to make and leaves. To the owner of this establishment, you shouldn’t have “Joseph “ arguing with customers who could be repeat customers if not treated the way they were as your first...
Read moreI gave a Five -Star rating not as some dining expert but as a husband who had a great meal and time with his wife celebrating our anniversary. We like most judge a restaurant on the food , the service, and the ambience. But most important to us is how we feel once we leave a place where we spent our hard earned money. Did we have a good experience and how does our tummy feel. We felt GREAT!!! We had our choice of dining experiences across the city to celebrate and my wife gave me 5-Stars for my selection. Our Margherita pizza was very tasty and light and our Caesar salad was super fresh and nicely dressed . Enjoyed that! Added a little Mascato on the palate and ....MMM! You do know you can judge the full establishment by its salad!? The Tiramisu was delicious and our Limoncello was the perfect conclusion to our evening at La Crostra. Our server Stoli who greeted us with a smile and was perfectly attentive at the right times. One of the female diners took a selfie with him. Timing is everything, right? We met the owner Dino who was present as he greeted us at our table. He made sure we celebrated our anniversary and had a memorable time. WE DID! Folks like many this is a small business operating under difficult circumstances. They are following CDC and CIty COVID-19 guidelines. I encourage you, your family, and your friends to visit for some great authentic Italian fare and support this business. We will be back! Real soon! Best wishes to Dino...
