Did not receive a response after several days to my contact page submission. Contacted an individual stylist via email after finding her Instagram on the Deacon website and received an automated response requesting my availability, requested service, photos of myself and inspiration, and credit card info for scheduling. I responded, only to receive a few days later notice that the requested stylist is unavailable until at least September. The suggested solution was a recommendation to another of their stylists, so that I could contact via that stylist's personal contact information on Instagram or email. Forget it.
Edited to add: I am not at all upset that the stylist is on maternity leave and is unavailable. I value family and understand that time is precious which is exactly why it is silly to waste your potential clients' time. I am frustrated that your contact page exists but is apparently unmonitored, and that you have an obtuse scheduling process. Why does an automated response request extensive information from me--INCLUDING my payment information!!!--for a stylist who was unavailable when an automated response could have instead advised she is not scheduling at this time? Additionally, I selected that stylist because her profile specified her curly hair experience. I was then told that ALL your stylists are fluent in curly hair management; what is the point of having it highlighted on one or two stylist's profiles? If the stylist's assistant had been able to schedule with someone else or directly put me in touch with someone who could, I would have proceeded. I didn't want to start the whole process again with a "recommendation." I would have liked assistance in...
Read moreI stumbled on this salon after a few google searches and I couldn't be more surprised to have found such a gem! My story is a bit long and I'll try to make it as short as possible. I have nearly waist length, thick, coarse hair. After changing stylists after many, many, many years, I was uncertain of where to look. I started googling and found Deacon! I read their bios on the stylists and decided to make an appt with Sarah. I am so glad I did! After a consultation, it's not an understatement when I say she is AMAZING and so is the salon. My hair needed corrective color in a bad way and a haircut to help with the damage I had. I had my second visit last night and she's a GENIUS! The amount of knowledge she has and her attention to detail is such a pleasant surprise! I haven't loved my hair this much in a few years. I've only met one of the stylists and she's awesome too! You couldn't go wrong with any of the stylists. The salon is clean, relaxing, tranquil. In short :), you have to...
Read moreI have incredibly thick and wavy hair, so it’s always been a lifelong challenge finding a salon or stylist that knows how to handle that kind of mane. This was the year I was no longer going to settle. I was recommended Deacon by a friend, and it certainly exceeded my expectations!
Sarah was great, and explained every step of the process in treating curly/wavy hair. The why behind each part was massively helpful, and it’s useful information I can apply at home in between cuts. It wasn’t an emphasis on products, it was an emphasis on process. I was stunned just how much wave my hair actually ended up showing, and it was encouraging to me finally getting to see the potential I knew was there! Not only that, Sarah really knows how to properly style it which I had never had before. I think most places try, but don’t really understand how my kind of hair reacts.
HIGHLY...
