I have spoke with at least 3 volunteers who habe worked here at the christiansburg store and they are seeing the same issues the customers are. There is no reason for the pricing being so high and when you do ask about bargaining with the price it is a problem because why???? See, If your store makes even 1 dollar on each Free item that was given to them for they just made 100% profit of they make 2 $ then 200%. I myself purchased their brand paint and also some cabinet hinges and returned the hinges with the reciept and they wanted to just give me store credit. Even tho I explained I found the hinges I needed at walmart for half the price brand new. Also on this same day I brought in 4 doors and about 10 new unused windows right before I came in to return the old tarnished hinges that did not fit that I had paid 2$ each for, un packaged. So not only did I give way more than I needed to return w a receit, the se same managers who accepted my free expen2aive money making items, then treated me as if I was a nuicance bc I wanted money back for hinges I couldn't use. 20 dollars worth mind you. 10 packaged free old hinges. I just gave to help the community was my opinion, but if people are giving companies such as the goodwill and habitat stores (corporations it seems now) these items for free to help us in the community that can't purchase these things due to our circumstances. Then I believe we should find a way to let the actual givers know there could be a way to take donations for these items bc someones manager or ceo is pocketing the money, just like the Goodwill Ceo "now millionaire", on others heartful giving has chosen to do. Because I can now say I will place my items on line or I will have a Real cheap yard sale before I ever give anything to the goodwill or the habitat to make their thousands or millions off our families that are struggling just to have the...
Read moreThe place is basically a trash can of discarded building materials. Their pricing structure has no rhyme or reason. A used item in good usable shape will be priced low and a similar item that is absolute junk will be way over priced. And the cant negotiate prices which is ridiculous when everything was donated to them for free. These nonprofit businesses are a joke. Don't waste your time shopping here. REPLY TO MANAGERS RESPONSE....I did ask about a pricing issue while in your store recently and talked with the manager on duty. I don't know if that was you or not ? But the person I talked with didn't have much response or concern about my comments and in fact walked away from me. Your employee who I had started the conversation with was more polite in listening to me but struggled in trying to explain the random pricing structure of similar items in varied states of condition. I visit your store from time to time and many items in your store don't seem to move very quickly. If your store's goal is to make money to help the less fortunate then you need to figure out a better pricing system as many of the other reviews on here mention that as a complaint also. But to have the no negotiation policy seems ridiculous when your pricing system seems to have no rules or guidelines as well. You're selling donated second hand goods that are not new and in most cases not in the greatest of condition. Any offers to buy should...
Read moreI see a lot of comments regarding the prices being too high. That wasn't our experience or impression at all. We stopped in the store for the first time since moving to Blacksburg, and I thought the prices were mostly reasonable. We found 3 brand new Ethan Allen tall dressers, and we also paid $75 for delivery.
We are in Blacksburg, but at the top of a mountain on a very difficult gravel driveway. The delivery men, Derek and... I'm sorry I forgot your name...stayed in touch to get here, navigated the driveway great and backed the truck directly up to the garage better than I ever could. And the dressers were HEAVY, but they set them in the rooms we needed them, even though one was unfortunately upstairs, with zero complaints. They were absolutely wonderful.
We are extremely happy and will definitely stop by the ReStore regularly to look for...
