Rohr Park does have an equestrian arena, but they have locked out the public. They are handing over the arena to a PRIVATE "non profit organization" Sunnyside Saddle Club, which you have to be a member in order to access this arena. Even though, this equestrian arena IS inside Rohr Park, a park for the PUBLIC.
First it will be the equestrian arena, next it will be the dog park, then the basketball courts, then the childrens' play grounds.
The city of Chula Vista is also allowing the leasing of the public parks land (The Peoples Property!) to lease dangerous microwave weapons, aka Mast Cell towers. So, as you recreate or walk by, you are literally being microwaved. Don't believe me, get yourself a Trifield meter and read the mM/m2 on it. You are being doused with Microwave frequencies. Our bodies are not built to handle these dangerous frequencies. (they are calling it a "virus" but it's actually Microwave POISONING- same symptoms- flulike/heart/breathing/dizziness, neuropathies, etc. etc.)
There are no warnings about being microwaved when you enter this park. (UPDATE: My latest readings as of 9/27/2025 was peak: 18.581 with a 3.671 mW/m2 Just to put this in perspective: The FCC states anything higher than a .200 mW/m2 has negative biological affects)
Just look up- Every time you see a cell tower, you are being poisoned. It's a very toxic environment. WHY would Chula Vista allow this to be done to you? (While you are at it, ask yourself, WHy is Chula Vista spraying known poisons, like glyphosate on areas in this park?- Toxic to pets, children, wildlife and you)
The dangerous-to-health 5G towers and the fact that Chula Vista is a "Smart" ( dumb) city is a big, dangerous red flag bummer.
You would hope a PUBLIC park would allow open access to the parks recreational, outdoor facilities and not...
Read moreVery large park with very little to do if you don't bring things with you. There are also pet drinking fountains here as well.
The west end near Willow and Sweetwater, has an area for children under 5 years old, but nothing for older children. So older kids are forced to try ways to play and entertain themselves by playing on the outside and on top of the equipment. There is a softball field here as well. It does have a restroom on its eastern side of the playground.
The central park has similar playground equipment to the western side of the park, but seams to be isolated from the rest of the park as this area is a couple hundred yards from the nearest water or restrooms. There is a softball field here as well. There is plenty of open field space for any sport that you can think of here as well. This section also has the historic railroad ride for people to ride when it's available. The eastern side of the central park entrance is the most populated area of the park with people and tables. A restrooms are available here. This side has basketball courts on the east side and a fair amount of parking.
The far East side is the most modern area of the park. This area has restrooms, softball fields, bleachers, horse riding area, lots of open grass area, dirt and paved parking. There are no playgrounds on this side.
I still love this park and bring every child that visits me here...
Read moreCame to Rohr park for a 4th birthday party. Our group rented out the wood gazebo within the Live Steamers rail yard and the kids were able to enjoy about 2 hours of non-stop train ride fun.
This place is GREAT! The train trail is fairly long complete with track switches (about 8 minutes to go two loops) and had plenty to look at along the way. The train is strong enough to pull kids and adults with plenty of seating. The train club volunteers were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and the kids had a blast. The birthday boy didn't get off the train over the entire two hour allotment.
