Warren Park — Attraction in Cicero

Whose taxes are funding this property? At 2 in the afternoon on a recent weekday afternoon, this 27-year Cicero resident just wanted to have a look around inside, maybe take a few photos, and possibly learn a bit about the history of the building.

But nooo!

The building was locked, although it sure looked like someone was inside.

So the only thing took away from this pathetic visit was a generic shot of the front of the building.

Oh, and there's a small bronze plaque outside, dated 1932, dedicating the planting of a (probably) long-dead and long-gone tree to George Washington's 200th birthday.

I find it almost creepy that this plaque was (apparently) never stolen for what little scrap value its bronze might have ($2.50/lb today). That was the highlight...

Rate 1 boxing classes are held here I used to go to the afternoons. I do not recommend this place at all. It is a waste of time plus the two young Hispanic coaches they do not teach accordingly. The coaches show up and just teach whatever they want and they just teach you one move for the whole hour and mainly doing jump rope, on the wheel, learning stance, and jumping jacks. That's all and it repeats every day. Also, not a lot of people just one or two. I call Cicero Stadium and they claim the class is full which is all lies. Once you show up you realized is empty. If you want to learn boxing go find another place here you will not learn nothing is just mainly...

I just walk around the park, I don't use the facilities inside the building. However u can report that the grounds are nicely kept with yeah barrels evenly placed to help patrons keep it clean. There's a memorial near the bleachers and baseball diamond. I wonder...
