Passionate and devoted to every tailoring task in his hands. I brought a velvet burgundy blouse that I bought online. It looked beautiful, sophisticated, elegant and perfect on an image presented by the seller on the seller's website. Once the blouse was delivered I got into fury and anger - the product I received had nothing in common (!) with the quality promised on the photo presented online - the blouse I received from the seller represented a lousy, poor quality as to the sewing execution and its cut was outrageously out of shape! Returning it would cost me $30 with no guarantee of a full $$ reimbursement I paid for the blouse. I can't believe that there are seller's that are misleading customers that way, seller's that make money on people by cheating. I decided to search for professional tailoring help. I hoped that the blouse could be fixed at least to some extent. Able was HONEST from the start: the original messed up cut could be corrected with the maximally professional and physically doable effort but still - the final result might not be as satisfying as I imagined due to the level the seller screwed up the blouse's sewing. Decision was mine. I decided to entrust the ugly blouse into Ables' hands and I didn't regret! He transformed "the lousy" into the OUTSTANDING and BEAUTIFUL!!! What was equally amazing - mission accomplished in just 1 day !!! I was truly impressed by the final result and by Abel's near magician skills - he made such miraculous job! I chose to support a small business for my wedding dress alterations after reading many positive google reviews. However, my experience left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected.

From the start, the man and woman (whom I assume are the owners) had an unpleasant attitude. My mother was covering the cost of my alterations, and when they quoted us $270 for hemming the bottom of my dress and adjusting the shoulder straps, I simply turned to my mother to confirm if she was comfortable with the price or if she wanted to explore other options. At that moment, the man abruptly said in Spanish, “If you want to leave, then leave!” and told the woman assisting us that we weren’t happy with the price—something I never expressed. I was only ensuring my mother was okay with the cost.

The woman then became defensive, insisting that she was giving me a “good discount” and that anywhere else would charge more due to the fabric of my dress. She repeatedly emphasized that she was doing me a favor, claiming that the full price should have been well over $300. The entire interaction was unnecessary and unprofessional. I was never trying to negotiate or dispute the price—just confirming with my mother before committing to the costs.

Despite the uncomfortable exchange, my mother ultimately decided to proceed, and we left my dress for alterations. The dress was ready in four days, but when I picked it up, I noticed that the bottom had only been cut, not hemmed as originally stated. This was concerning because the high price was justified on the basis that hemming was necessary. It made me question whether I was overcharged simply because it was a wedding dress.

Their dismissive and hostile demeanor made it clear that they did not value us as customers. Based on my experience, I would not recommend...

Best alteration experience ever!!!! They totally nailed it on the first try!!! For years I've been struggling to find someone to do my alterations before finding Abel De Valente other alteration places either they say it can't be done or if they do I come back for numerous fittings with several weeks wait times in between. My experience here at Abel De Valente was a dream come true. Super kind super welcoming super eager and enthusiastic to take on my projects even though I had been told no by other alteration places. And then it got even better 48 hours later I got a phone call checking in saying everything was to be done soon. I came to pick it up they nailed it on the first try-- no additional fittings needed absolutely perfect!! I have found my new favorite place I can't wait to bring more clothes for them to alter!!! They really bring a fresh creative approach I think the reason the other places said no to my projects is they just didn't have the skills. Abel De Valente definitely has the skills and talent. And they are seriously the sweetest kindest people!!!! Totally worth the 30 minute drive! I actually would have drove even further because they did such an amazing job!!! I only wish I would have found them sooner! Their prices are very affordable so show your appreciation I'm sure they'd appreciate a nice tip for their hard work! Also if you are concerned about Covid-19 safety precautions they've definitely taken a lot of precautions so you can feel comfortable going.
