🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We live just a few blocks away and finally stopped by El Callejón del Beso for lunch—and I’m so glad we did.
Everything about our visit was on point. I had the arrachera with 3 eggs—simple, flavorful, and cooked just right. My wife ordered a plate of chilaquiles that wasn’t even on the menu—a special recommendation from our waitress. And let me tell you... she loved it. If you're curious, just show the waitress a photo and ask for “the special.” You won’t regret it.
We also had agua fresca—mine was pepino con limón. It was refreshing, light, and served in a beautiful glass jarro that I’ve never seen in a restaurant before. That small touch? Made a big impression.
The dining area is cozy—maybe a few tables short for the buzz this place deserves—but you can sit comfortably. The owner mentioned plans to expand, and I think that’s a smart move. Because once word gets out, this place is going to be packed.
Above all, what stood out was the warmth. The owner is incredibly friendly and humble. It’s the kind of vibe you want when you’re enjoying a good meal.
If you’re in Cicero, don’t sleep on this spot. It’s new, it’s local, and it’s definitely worth your time. We’ll be...
Read moreI was in the area and figured with the rating it has and the reviews it's got. Why not give this place a try. Idk, maybe it was the waitresses new day, or I caught them in between shifts. Maybe this was just not their day. Regardless, I tried the parrilla supreme for 2 ppl, 10 of the jumbo chicken wings, and chips with guacamole. I don't want to be mean, but I've definitely had better. The food wasn't sizzling as if it just came off the parrilla. It didn't help that the waitress didn't bring us any utensils or extra plates. So while we waited, the food got even colder. The wings were not bad. But they also were cold. My takeaway is that at least they were all very nice people. You can see that they really mean well and give 100% effort. I would just strongly suggest they get more organized. I'm sure that if they just did some minor tweaks on how they run things. It would make the world of difference. I wish them the best of luck and look forward to trying them again. Next time, I'll just stick to the tacos. Kinda hard to drop the ball on...
Read moreOk so I gave this spot a try as I am looking for a new Mexican spot, because Gudalupana has dropped on quality . So the food was OK not great. Beans were undercooked. Rice was good, steak was good. , enchiladas were good., but just not worth the price tag on the items. Also here is what really did it for me. I asked my wife how much was it after she paid and I left a 20 doller tip on an expecting $50-60 doller bill., but she said $77. 00 I said what. Took a look at the recipt and these people charged Gratituity without any signs stating they automatically add gratituity. The place is small. Also another older couple was there and they didn't like the food either. I hope this place reads this review and takes it seriously because if your going to be a taco spot on the corner . You need to be good have good food, also let people know that the tip is added already so they...
