Hide your kids, hide your dogs. There are homeless people sleeping in the woods. They don't like if your kids and/or dogs are loud and will come out of the woods, sick off of drugs, and they will scream profanities at you for waking them up. A short girl with long brown hair and muddy shoes is the one who did it to me in front of the kids (and dogs) and to be honest, it was a moment where I would have kmocked her out if it wasn't for my fear of making her bleed and catching something. I have also on a previous occasion went to go for a walk in the woods. There were two guys, one with something in his hand, the other with his shoe off. They said, without us asking, that he twisted his ankle. Upon our ascend out of the woods. The guy who was without a shoe was missing both shoes and his jacket. He was laying over a tree stump, in and out of conciousness. I decided to call 911 and turns out he was overdosed and the other guy who was with him, robbed him of his shoes, jacket and wallet.... Lovely. Apparently had we not called, he could have died. Hope he doesnt make that mistake again. Seemed...
Read moreOff the beaten path, a lost gem of a small community park nestled in the foothills that surround the city of Cincinnati. Offering many well-cared for trails, (both paved, or a combination of mulch and gravel...) Hosts an array of local, intersecting bike paths, offering up scenic vista's of the beaucolic Little Miami River, and often untold views of the Cincinnati Skyline...(Which project iconically off on the far western horizon, framing the setting sun to a sublime picture postcard every evening. Nice place for small to medium-sized events: ie hosting small family reunions, weddings and other small group gatherings... Playground equipment seems modern, sturdily built w/ soft, "Helicopter-Mom friendly," surfaces - equally inviting to children and young families alike. Overall imperssions are that it is a distinctive, very neat clean, well-maintained, little park; nestled in an off-the- beaten-path corner of the city: the rapidly gentrifing Mt Washington neighborhood, on...
Read moreMy girlfriend showed me this park, it's absolutely wonderful. Much larger than it appears, there are plenty of trails winding throughout the woods. Some of the spaces in the park have an almost cathedralesque quality; a very spiritual place. The gazebo is an excellent spot to chill and write, and we always stop to use the swings for a bit. The bathrooms are really nice and there's a decent amount of parking. There is a playset for the kiddos as well, and a few benches next to lampposts for lovers. Great place to walk the dog, I've met many wonderful canines here! My only qualm, and this is not at all exclusive to Stanbery but applies to parks throughout the nation - the only reason I mention it here is because I believe the good people of Mt. Washington can step up as leaders and set an example for the rest of the city--- i really wish people wouldn't litter so much!!...
