Jefferson Skatepark — Attraction in City of Canandaigua

I bring my daughters here often, it's fine in the day, usually. Last time we went, though, there was trash all over the playground and the swings were wound over the top of the frame so children could not access them. When we go in the evening there are always unattended children swearing, bullying others, and being overall offensive. It is upsetting to have to tell your child they have to leave a children's playground because the other children are not being respectful. Wish something could be done about the atmosphere...

My boys LOVE coming here. They are both very young (3 & 8, but the older kids are sooo nice and they help my 8yo out with tips and tricks and LOTS of encouragement. It's like a little community over there! I can't find anything bad to say about the park or the kids who go there. Yes there have been issues in the past, but those are nonexistent now. Sign at the skatepark says it's open from dawn to dusk, but it has been locked from at least 10am to 1pm while we were here. The bathroom was unlocked and open. No signs anywhere indicating why the skate area is locked up. Very disappointing. Little playground near by is in good shape but more for kids...
