The most disgusting fish market ever. I couldn’t even get this smell out of my nose. I go to a lot of Asian markets. This has to be the worst market ever when it comes to ordinance The fishmarket needs to be shut down.I bought salmon and knowingly the red flags were everywhere. I figured well they don’t have salmon here in tanks. I wouldn’t buy their fish in those tanks …poor things .I don’t even have my fish it’s tank like that at home . And people are putting that kind of fish meat in their mouth …disgusting. Well, anyways, I bought the salmon …wrong move.. The smell was weird..like dirty.. So I watched it and thought that would help.. Then I end up cooking it. I’ve cooked tons of salmon and fish …and this by far is the worst ever in my life. Put it in the container.. I went gave it a chance , I managed to try to eat it.. I ended up throwing it out. It was disgusting… And to top it off, I couldn’t even get the smell out of my container.. foulest dirtiest smell ever. It probably was cross contamination from the fish that they have their own drinks and they cut up on their boards and just transmitted to the salmon that they .. So basically, it was like I was having one of those fish tank fishes instead of Salmon . I can’t imagine what it looks like behind those counters where they are prepping people’s food. I strongly believe there needs to be an investigation how the fish market are running things. They shouldn’t be selling any kind of fish. They should only operate as a supermarket for imported shelf food..because that’s the only part I will return...
Read moreOur go-to Asian market in the SGV area, this hidden gem offers an impressive selection and fantastic weekly deals. We particularly appreciate their customer support through the LINE group. The store is exceptionally well-maintained, and the staff is consistently helpful. It exudes a warm 'Mom-and-Pop' vibe, which brings back memories from my time in the grocery business over a decade ago. The popcorn chicken station is a must-visit, reminiscent of the flavors of Taiwan. A pro tip: order your food first, and by the time you've finished exploring the store, your delicious order will be ready too. Enjoy the fragrance during your drive home, and it's okay to sneak a popcorn chicken, or fishcake, or two, or three while you're driving. Nobody is gonna know... Darn it, better turn around and order...
Read moreThis Asian supermarket is tucked in a plaza which is mostly a Hispanic sort of community. There are shelves that display Taiwanese products. As you walk to a different area there are shelves that focus on hispanic products. The rest of the store is focused on Asian products. The store looks dated but inside seems clean and organized. As you enter there is a little heated lamp area near the cashier with Taiwanese bento and other ready to eat food. If the Taiwanese bento does appeal to your liking, you can walk towards the far left corner where you can ask the staff to make a Taiwanese bento that is made to order. The live seafood section seems limited, the seafood area seems sub par as the fishy smell is...
