Just a bad experience all around. The prices were absolutely disgusting in the extreme. The place is run down and in need of repairs. Most of the staff seemed pleasant enough until I had a few issues. The trouble started when I attempted to search for my better half who had the whole families tickets with her. She had to go in advance. The lady at the door demanded my tickets as I looked for my wife. I explained my wife had them and I was standing still looking for her over the top of the crowd. (yes I'm that tall). I had only taken 2 steps in and just stood there looking. Not a minute later she demanded even more firmly. Apparently she must have thought adding the word "SIR" in a shrill tone might make her seem less rude. I again explained I was trying to get my PRE-PAID tickets and would simply ignore her now for being so rude. I PROMISE YOU NOBODY ON EARTH IS GOING TO SNEAK IN TO A KIDS DANCE RECITAL!!!!! 🙄 There were 4 lines unknowingly split between 2 serving areas. I asked for fresh popcorn. The popcorn I was handed was grabbed from, and had obviously been sitting in, the heated pen for far too long as it tasted more than a bit stale. Barely got through half the tiny bag before reaching an entirely burned section. In all likelihood it was a poor attempt to save one small batch of cheap stock by pawning it off on the unsuspecting customers. The drinks had far too much ice and not nearly enough syrup in the stream and tasted awful. The recital would have been better had there not been one annoying family who kept screaming their kids name every time they went on stage. I get supporting your kid but detracting from everyone else and the hard work they put in and distracting other dancers and patrons alike was simply awful. I saw several dancers forget where they were in their routine and stumble back into place as the rude family continued to scream only for their child several times. One poor girl was literally stunned. She simply stood there for about 3 seconds like a deer in the headlights actually staring at the family screaming her classmates name before remembering where she was and continuing with her part of the routine.
Unless I get dragged to another recital I seriously doubt I will EVER go back...
Read moreLast night my sister and I went to the palace to enjoy the production of “Scrooge,The Christmas Carol” It was by far the worst production ever witnessed! The scenery never changed to fit the story lines. The character of Scrooge was totally misrepresented. Also if I wanted to sit and listen to someone read the story to me I would of listened to books on tape! This production was poorly done and it didn’t last 2 hours like the advertisement indicated. They surely took the magic out of a well known classic Also the charge of 25.00 was outrageous for this cut short and poorly done event. Please do not let this particular cast or group portray this classic again!Palace ,we expected better for the money. Shameful! People in the audience were shaking their heads ,”what did we just see?” What a let down. I should of gone to hear Mike Randall at the...
Read moreWas here for a dance recital Theatre is very nice inside and clean. The sound system is amazing. Here are my issues it was very warm inside the theatre to the point where most everyone had a bead of sweat on their brows. I spoke with an attendant who said it takes awhile for the building to cool down - well should have addressed this sooner so the theatre was cool. Also the lines for concessions are all over the place making it very difficult to walk around and get either beer, wine or snacks. Crowd control posts would alleviate this problem. Also the bathroom was a mess with paper overflowing out of the waste basket. Overall the theatre is pretty nice - just needs a bit more management. Plenty of free parking on side...
