Paramount Theatre though it does show movies most are what you might say are out of the mainstream and could be considered more docu-drama or maybe documentary, but then some have been with a religious overtone and sometimes for specific age groups. The Paramount Theatre was my theatre as a boy and my first movie at the age of 3-4 was "Sleeping Beauty" which at that age was fantastic! The theatre has long since been renovated and taken over by the Middletown Counsel of Arts. The theatre has had many very good personalities in all areas of entertainment and also put on many of the musical programs that showcased some of the local talent such as Jimmy Sturr of Warwick, Jermaine Paul of Monroe and even myself. We all have been performing in and around the County of Orange and all have been on the stage of the Paramount Theatre multiple times and love getting the chance to perform on that stage for our friends, relatives and the local audiences. The Paramount Theatre as I said was my introduction to the movies, it's also the place where I saw my first TV personality "Sandy Becker" and "Sonny Fox". When I was asked to sing with the Warwick Valley Chorale to join in with the Jimmy Sturr Orchestra and Singers, Jermaine Paul and Jimmy Sturr I counted myself Blessed and Thanked God for the Opportunity to be on that stage. May the Paramount Theatre "Live Long...
Read moreI attended the Stylistics/ Manhattan concert earlier this evening @ The Paramount Theater in Middletown NY. I use a rollator to walk and my balance is particularly shaky on inclined surfaces. I was treated with exceptional care, courtesy and consideration, by every single staff member I came into contact with. My entrance into the theater began with friendly greetings, as well as offers to make me comfortable while my sister resolved a ticket issue.Without being requested to do so, a staffer transported me to my third row orchestra seat in a wheelchair. My rollator was then placed nearby, within my sight. I was assisted after the show, to a safe location while waiting for my ride home. Again, staffers assisted me safely to the car, as I walked outside. A shout out to Middletown PD also, for clearing the area as I was helped to the car. Everyone mentioned in this post, was extremely professional and extended themselves to facilitate my movements inside and outside the theater. Every gesture was accompanied by a smile and reassurance that my safety was...
Read moreNice old theater. Comfortable seats with plenty of legroom. They have at least 3 parking lots with attendants to help direct traffic and people crossing the street - all within close proximity of the theater. Highly wheelchair accessible. Candy, soda, water and popcorn served in the entrance. No alcoholic beverages unlike most theaters. It probably has a nice sound system though it wasn't set appropriately for the Taylor Dane concert. Overall it was far too loud and the band was set so loudly that it blocked out her amazing vocals. This lady at 60 years old sings just like she did in 1987. Simply amazing. It's a shame the sound engineers made it really difficult...
