Good Friends Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in City of Port Jervis

Good Friends is a go-to local Chinese takeout place, but the quality of their food is uneven.

Clean, a few tables out front and a clean bathroom, the majority of their business is takeout. I keep going back when I'm in the area even though their regular chef, if they have one, seems to have quite a few days off, and does not always cook up dishes as they are known elsewhere. "Kung Pao" for example is a style I have always known to mean cooked with hot peppers and peanuts, but when I ordered it from the lunch menu recently I got chicken in an oddly flavored sweetish sauce that normally represents as chili sauce. I didn't finish it. They are prone to missing items in orders and not always eager to fix things, so I recommend checking your order over carefully in the restaurant.

This Chinese place is terrible. To begin with it is very dirty the tables the floor and the garbage can over flows because obviously no one is cleaning up. When I asked the young man to please wipe down the table he had the most dirtiest rag I have ever seen! I did not want to eat there however my sister and husband decided to give it a chance. So when they ordered the woman behind the counter was very rude and confrontational but they were troopers and received there orders. The food was very disappointing to be very honest the food should have been made better. The taste was not there and it really wasn't good. The worst, they're money hungry They messed up my order. I'm allergic to carrots and they put it in my food when I told him(of course he wasnt listening he was too busy being money hungry adding up my order nodding his head yes) I asked for extra sauce and it was dry. I called later in the day after I was home 10 miles away and they wanted me to return it. I told them I wouldn't be able to return for over a weekthey said no problem. I called 3 days later I happened to be in neighborhood and asked for one of the items no charge, I would pay for the others even though they messed up, I wanted to see if they would make good and they wouldn't because they said I ate it.
