Been having trouble finding primer for my models finally found it on your website paid for 6 cans and finally when delivered opened the delivery and found brake pads not spray paint inspected the package for a miss label or if opened but shows no signs other than my opening called immediately about this issue the person was shocked and said this was the second time this happen I was asked for my contact info and was told I would receive a call the following day. Received no call that day called the following day and no answer left voicemail about my package. Then I called again today I was passed off three times then the last gentleman I told about my problem immediately started to defend himself in a aggressive tone saying that he packed my delivery personally and he started to throw the blame on the shipping company. But the strangest thing is after I purchased the primer it showed out of stock but the day my package was delivered the website shows the primer back in stock with 6 cans while the black of the same brand has been out the entire ordeal. So it's been a year I see everyone else that had a bad experience was responded in less then three days but mine is completely ignored so I don't believe the other reviews for this store that marks it at 5 stars I won't recommend people to order from here unless they...
Read moreI had given The Art Store a less than stellar review a while ago. Let me state I have completely changed my mind. The last few times I visited, even in the midst of Covid-19, the place was extremely well stocked with lots of new items. I continue to be impressed with not only what’s on the shelves but also the employees who are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices on most items for in-store purchase are quite competitive with Jerry’s and Blick taking into account their outrageous shipping charges for small orders. The addition of an artists’ gallery along the upper walls has created a nice vibe in the store.
I have one gripe (a/k/a -deduct 1 star) that I am hoping eventually gets resolved: location. The location SUCKS! It is in a part of the city that is commercially dead and rundown, a little scary actually. Road construction ongoing and planned for the future makes getting there difficult and it will just get worse. I think relocating to a somewhat smaller, more refreshed space with a classroom in a busy retail area with parking, preferably east of the city, would help tremendously. Still, I will continue to be very happy to drive an hour to support...
Read moreDisappointed - they do NOT carry artist grade watercolor paints (Schmincke, Daniel Smith, etc), their prices are on artist grade papers too high for local market & online market; and while they will honor a competitor's coupon, it is a process involving them calling the other store and confirming they also carry the EXACT same item - thus eliminating any need for me to return ... no quality artist grade items I searched, 3 times staff approached other customers to inquire if they needed help - but never asked me or my daughter - we were ignored until check out, then questions were answered curtly.
Also, while trying to find anything I could use at a decent price - another customer inquired if the had Cross pens - the employee had no clue what a Cross pen is. My questions were met with similar unsure answers.
The ONLY "social media" they keep up to date is they apparently send out a weekly email 'blast'.
The well stocked and attractively laid out store, that I loved in the 80's and 90's is...
