I found this place via the Happy Cow app on our way up from Raleigh, NC. We got stuck in traffic around DC (big surprise there, I know!), so we weren't able to actually eat in the restaurant due to getting into town only 10 minutes before they closed for the night. When we saw we weren't going to make it, I placed an order on their website while riding shotgun. It was easy to order what we needed with any modifications, including the fact that we corn have Celiac which was plainly an option for every item we ordered. The order was ready when we pulled up and the staff was exceptionally friendly. We brought the food to our hotel and ate in the lobby. It was freaking delicious!! A bit on the spicier side for a couple of the dishes, but overall we absolutely loved the flavor profiles and the dishes we ordered. We shared the french fries and a chocolate peanut butter banana shake. My son got a half order of the loaded nachos and I got the Sweet and Sassy sandwich on a gluten free roll. Can't say enough about the food at this place! It's difficult to find vegan gluten free options when we travel, so this was a wonderful surprise. I'm hoping the rest of our trip up north will be just as tasty!

I want to be fair by starting this review by saying that I came here with the intention of getting the Mac and cheese- my all time favourite base food. The Mac and cheese was watery, bland and lacking creaminess. The sauce was a bit gritty in texture, and again very wet. It did not have the depth that I was hoping for in a Mac and cheese. Rate the Mac and cheese a 3.5/10- I really don’t understand all of the amazing reviews on this dish! I also got two cupcakes- red velvet and cookie butter. The cookie butter cupcake was exactly like the Biscoff cookie with a light and sugary icing. Delicious! The red velvet was moist but the icing was quite firm and tasted a bit like cool whip.. I wasn’t the biggest fan. I think with a different icing, it would have been better. I would return for the desserts but would not recommend or eat the Mac and cheese. The girls at the counter were super friendly and personable. I enjoyed their service and it was very quick. Atmosphere was great but a little cafeteria styled for me. Could benefit from some elegance but wouldn’t stop me from going back, it’s a relaxed vibe.

I was looking for a comforting gluten free, dairy free, and meat free meal and came across comments suggesting this place. I didn’t want something very big, yet I wanted it to be warm and comforting. I asked the kind lady at the cash for help in deciding between the Mac and cheese options. I ended up going with the buffalo mac, with tofu instead of chicken (because the chicken option isn’t gluten free). It was the absolute BEST gluten free + vegan mac I’ve EVER had. The tofu didn’t look that appetizing at first, but it was easily the best mac I’ve had- both gluten/dairy and gf/df I’ve had. I don’t usually rate gluten free pastas as 5/5, but this was honestly the best I’ve had. Definitely on my list for the future, God Willing! They were also careful with cross-contamination, and I asked for new utensils to be used, just in case. (P.S The picture isn’t awesome, and I was 3/4th through the container- but It was truly amazing).

Strong Hearts is always unbelievably good. Wow. It's the best vegan food I've ever had. We go there pretty often so I've gotten to try a few things on their menu. I haven't been disappointed yet. Everyone there is always really nice too. The staff, the customers..everyone! This time a group of us went there to celebrate my birthday because whenever my sister asks me where I want to go for my birthday, I say Strong Hearts! 😃 All of us are vegan so we absolutely love that it's one of the few places that you can go around here that's also fully vegan. I had a BBQ "chick'n" sandwich and macaroni salad. 😋 Oh my God! So freaking good!! The macaroni salad had peas in it which I've never seen anyone do before, but was fantastic! And I also love it because our group has very diverse tastes and they have something for everyone! My sister even gets an off menu item made for her! But you can build your own sandwiches, they have burgers, fries, milkshakes, nachos, chicken, salad..and for dessert..cupcakes, sometimes cheesecake or pie too! And they have big home-baked chocolate chip cookies. They have huge chocolate bars you can buy and take home. If you're vegan and live anywhere even close to one of their locations you really have to go try it! And even if you're nonvegan, because eating here will show you how good vegan food really is, and you won't even be able to tell its vegan. And hopefully you'll leave there deciding that you're vegan. And if it's because of my review, my little vegan heart is so happy!🥰 No matter what you choose to eat, one thing is for certain. Whether you're vegan or not you're gonna leave...

For the love of God, EAT HERE. I’m not vegan; never have been and never will be. I am, however, in love with good food.

This place has blown the lid right off my cranium. My flabbers are gasted. I’m furious that I live in CT and am in town on business.

Staff is fantastic. Exactly the kind of people you want talking about the food. Very chill, good vibes. The place is clean, smelled clean, and felt clean.

I got the Smack and Cheese, which is an outrageously delicious smashing of Big Mac & Mac n Cheese. I lost myself like the shark in JAWS. My eyes rolled so far back into my head with flavor joy that I could count the folds of my brain. Get this. Get this NOW. The not-beef has the good-good gentle flame grilled taste. The sauce is a perfect replica. The ratio of pickles and onion was spot on.

I had ONE BITE and I knew I needed to throw down my salad first. I got the Thai Tofu salad and I scoffed at how good the first bite was. These people know food and love food. You can taste how much they love food. They know how to do tofu right. I laughed between bites, shoving the crisp greens into my face and stabbing rows of edamame and tofu to stuff it some more. The dressing was okay, not to my taste, but I really didn’t need it.

13/10 will destroy a plate again.

No pictures because I wrecked my...

I love Strong Hearts Cafe. Their milkshakes are the best milkshakes I've ever had (vegan or not). My personal favorite is the Green Tea Milkshake, so flavorful and perfectly sweet! In addition to this their cupcakes are always a guilty pleasure of mine and I'm not a sweets person normally. Their buttercream frosting is incredible. A few times I've been their on a weekend they run out of supplies to make milkshakes, so thats disappointing. In the future I hope that they prepare more so that they don't run out of the supplies to make them, as usually I can only go here on weekends.

I also really enjoy their food options, their seitan is amazing and their tempeh "bacon" is the best I've ever had. However, I wish they still had their portobello sandwich on the menu.

Their Friday night pizza's are a huge hit for vegans in the area; however, I've never been satisfied with a pizza here. The dough has always been too tough to chew and the vegan cheese acts like glue which makes it hard to enjoy. I also wish that on Fridays I could also still order off of their regular menu, but they only serve pizzas on Fridays.

At any rate, I really do love their options here and am a huge fan of their restaurant and their...
