Atwoods — Attraction in Claremore

Yet another unsatisfactory shopping experience at Atwood’s in Claremore! The garden area had bright pink signs posted everywhere that said “ ALL PLANTS AND TREES BUY ONE GET ONE 50% OFF.” Sounds great so I choose 6 plants and the first 4 ring up correctly. The last 2 plants ring up at the original price , price unchanged. One plant was $24.99 and the second was $18.99. Nowhere on my receipt did it change because of the sale price. I’m looking at my receipt just after checking out and the second bush should have had $9.50 or so discounted. I take the cart and receipt to the service desk where the clerk proceeds to refund our card for $6.70. (What?) I asked her how $9+ could turn into $6.70 because the amount is still incorrect. Three checkers later I am told if I added up the original receipt, it would come out with the correct amount even though it states the original price. I asked the clerk if she added it up and found that out; she admitted she did not. These young women were all friendly and polite, but the system at Atwood’s is not honest. When I looked at the return receipt, I was given a refund at a lower price. My $24.99 shade basket was refunded at $23.27! My $18.99 bush was refunded at $17.35! SERIOUSLY? They did not give up the correct refund amount on products my husband and I had purchased five minutes before! I cannot in good faith shop here anymore. Well I'm going to start by saying that I have been a loyal customer at this Atwoods location for years. That being said, I was totally humiliated at this location this evening My husband, my father and myself were there to buy ammo and a few odds and ins. Everything was perfect until we stepped outside and were met with 2 Claremore police officers asking if they could have a word. They said that some employees reported suspensions of Me, specifically, stuffing my pockets. I had no purse with me, my jeans are pretty tight fitting, and my hoodie is tight with tiny pockets. I had my phone and my ecig in my pocket, that's all! The officers took one look at us and handled the situation with the upmost kindness and respect. Went to the one in Claremore to exchange a pair of shoes that I got for my birthday the day before. I went in to the service desk and told the women that I needed to exchange for a bigger size. She asked if I had a receipt and I said no I just got them as a gift and they don’t fit and I just needed an exchange. She told me I couldn’t without a receipt! Then she wanted to know what store I purchased them from. I advised that most gifts don’t come with a receipt not do you ask the giver and she still refused an exchange! I asked for a manager and said I’ve never had trouble exchanging anything before. She didn’t call for a manager and fumbled around then said just go exchange them and come back!
