Ashland Park — Attraction in Clarksville

Good views of the Ohio River and Louisville skyline. Pleasant. Nice setting. A few seats, concrete walking path goes further down along with playground & picnic tables. A few people with dogs, which were near the playground. Ice cream stand across the street. Cons: litter.

This little park is easily accessed by bike from Big Four Bridge. It lies along the banks of the Ohio River and offers the best views of the downtown Louisville skyline. The fabulous Ohio River Greenway begins here and runs all the way to New Albany. The Falls of the Ohio State Park is adjacent to the park. Plenty of benches, bathroom facilities, a picnic area, parking, a playground, and plenty of direct access to the river. There's even an ice cream parlour across the street. Amazing and a geologists' dream of fun. I enjoyed it all until I began having an allergic reaction to the petroleum pollution that Ashland has ruined our river with. All exposed skin turned into red welps, took a Zyrtec and a cool shower immediately once home.
