I have bought records here, bought equipment, and have had high end gear serviced here. Never once an issue. Dave is as solid as they come. He stands by his products, he turns around his service repairs quickly and he knows his stuff.
Amazing used selection of vinyl, and some great new stuff too. I can't walk out of here without a giant stack of wax. The back area of the store has fully refurbished audio equipment where you can find some great deals. All serviced by Dave himself. I have purchased at least 3 turntables from that back wall, and felt comfortable handing them off to someone else after I upgraded again.
I had a Nikko receiver serviced most recently. It had some issues but this is the receiver my old man used to listen to the ball games on when I was a kid growing up. It's not some top of the line tube amp, but for me this was about the memories of that old blue light receivers warm glow and that crackle and pop of the vinyl.
I got to listen to the Tribe in the playoffs on that thing this year, they unfortunately lost to the damn Yankees, just like my pop would have done back in the 70's when that Nikko was new out of the box. Except the Indians sucked in the 70's, but the receiver regardless of Indians wins and losses is the real winner.
What I am trying to say is Vinyl Groove is the best in the area for servicing vintage audio equipment. Nikko to McIntosh every piece of equipment matters to someone and Dave is the best in the area to bring back old audio equipment and...
Read moreDO NOT TAKE REPAIRS HERE! I like the record shop, but my repair was supposed to take six weeks and took over a year. I never once heard from the owner or his outsourced repair man, and when I called them they never had any answers. I Had to drive 2 hours round trip to pick up my “fixed” old marantz receiver. I paid the man $250 and was told it was tested for hours without problems. It wasn’t on for one minute when I got it home before blowing the main fuse. I Bought some replacement fuses and it blows them the second you push the power button. Avoid the nightmare and find someone else who knows what they are doing.
EDIT: I was just as confused as the owner seem s because I am certain I took It to this shop and paid a $40 bench fee(that wasn’t factored into the total repair cost, have the receipts to prove it) and wasn’t told it would be outsourced. Yet, they still seem to deny that it was them I asked for service, and push responsibility onto someone else, and have yet to offer any type of reconciliation. None of what he says in his response is true. Further...
Read moreI pre-ordered 2 albums online after searching the internet for these specific pre-orders. One album came out in March while the other came out in May; I expected a wait before the albums ship. A week or so after the second pre-order came out, I received shipping notice for my order. The shipment came quickly, but upon opening it, I realized that one of the two albums was missing. I immediately reached out through email and Instagram. The Vinyl Groove responded within a couple of hours and said that they would check in on it the next day. It has now been 2 weeks since that day, I have sent multiple follow up emails/ messages, and have not heard a single word from The Vinyl Groove, despite seeing that they have read my messages. I hate to leave a negative review on a small business, but I am under the impression that they have zero intention on fulfilling my pre-order of an album that came...
