Apple Montessori Schools & Camps - Cliffside Park — Attraction in Cliffside Park

We've been sending our child to Apple Montessori schools since our child was 7 months old and we believe that the choice of school was what really helped with her development and she has been making amazing achievements! When she was an infant, we sent her to the Hoboken location and due to difficulties with the commute, we switched her to the Cliffside Park location when she was old enough to continue her education at Apple schools.

The best part about Apple Montessori Schools is that they are not franchises and all of the schools operate on the same curriculum, including the teacher trainings. I truly appreciate the trainings that all the teachers receive on Montessori method and their attention to detail to each child's developments throughout the year. When you speak to the teachers, it is as if the teacher was only watching my child all day! They are so attentive and caring to each child and my child LOVED being there!

The toddler room in Ms. Villega's class is superb! Ms. V and Ms. Picasso are a phenomenal team for the toddler children. Thanks to them, my child is fluent in both English and Spanish (and of course also our native language that we speak at home).

The preschool is organized in a true Montessori way, whereby children of different age groups can teach and learn from each other. The younger children watch the older children and learn from their behaviors; and because the older children know that the younger ones are watching, they seem to have a sense of responsibility to behave well and be good role models. Ms. Rodriguez was a fabulous teacher.

Since my child was 14 months, the child was starting to learn to read through the unique reading program at the school. And now, my child is not even 3 yet but the child is able to read some simple words. Additionally, she is doing simple arithmetic; for example, she understands how many articles are needed to accommodate her friends and herself in a social setting.

My child is also able to hold intelligent conversations with adults and understand her surroundings. The child is able to do most daily tasks alone, including dressing, brushing teeth, feeding herself, and using the potty.

I can't recommend this school enough. The difference between the Cliffside Park and the Hoboken locations is that the CP one is smaller, with a closer community. All of the teachers know all of the children and they know every family. We are sad to have left this school and we are so grateful beyond words for what they have done...

I'm really glad we chose Apple Montessori at Cliffside Park for my daughter. I'm glad to know my daughter is in a safe environment where the teachers never raise their voices, kids get redirected if needed, she learned functional skills, concepts in math & language, manners, being respectful, yoga, music, all about nature, animals and geography, all at an early age. The school's values are excellent, everyone is a pleasure to speak to. The parent-teacher conferences are effective, they have a report on all the learning categories and they always ask me if there is anything additional I'd like them to help my kid with.

My daughter loves her teacher and all the assistants! Ms. Alcantara teaches with lots of love, she gets the kids engaged to follow directions and to understand what they're being taught, and you can see this during the class observations! Ms. Suarez is always mentioned by my daughter also, she's very caring and always willing to help. She used to call me weekly to let me know how my daughter was doing when she started at 2.5 yrs old. Ms. Villacis is the sweetest, always taking care of my daughter at the door in the morning with a positive attitude. The Director, Ms. Rogers, is always supportive and helpful in all kinds of issues and questions. The billing department is also very responsive and accommodating. All a great team!

My daughter has friends, older and younger than her, and is very happy to go to school every morning. She loves Show and Tell every Friday and now that she gets homework she's very excited and proud to work on it daily. They have parent-kid engagement days with nice activities and a day where grandparents are specially invited, which I love. The kids' birthdays are well celebrated, making them feel special while learning the concept of turning a year older. The kids perform twice a year on Halloween & for International Day, I only wish there was more space to invite more family for Int. Day, our favorite! I appreciate when they introduce healthy snacks! The kids are also involved in preparing the Thanksgiving feast, a lovely tradition. The communication via email and app is good, but faster is through a quick phone call. Love their weekly newsletter aka "backpack", is full of useful information and event reminders. I highly recommend this school...

My child joined Apple Montessori School – Cliffside Park at age 2 and is leaving just shy of age 6. The changes, I have seen especially from a character development, increased confidence and learning perspective are massive. This is in no doubt due to the nurturing environment provided by teachers, administrators, and team at Cliffside Park. My child is now an avid reader, more articulate, is great at writing and arithmetic and knows how to comprehend concepts of the wider world.

I would especially like to pay tribute to the school personnel who have made significant contribution to my child’s development:

Ms Alcantara (Ms. A): Stretches and challenges her class, provides great structure to learning, truly cares for the children and exposes them to diverse thought and cultures. She is a dynamic and purposeful teacher who has control of her classroom. She is the gamechanger in my child's educational and social-emotional growth.

Ms Rogers: Is a consistent leader and guided my child through the school for the past 4 years. She has ardently supported my child’s growth and development. She is truly a leader and accepts input from parents and is happy to resolve any issue which arises.

Ms Suarez: Watched and help soothe my child for the past few years and ensured my child felt loved. She is the creative teacher behind FastTracks.

Also, the Preschool Assistants – Ms Amaya/Ms Hanan who have been rockstars during evening day care/pickup. Ms Melo for her great passion and all the other teachers and Preschool Assistants who have played some part in our child’s unforgettable experience at Cliffside Park
