I’ve been coming here a few years now. The first couple times was a great experience. I left with a great haircut and good styling that showcased my hair with ringlets for 3a hair. These past few times I have been here were really disappointing to the point where this salon lost my business. From getting highlights that were uneven and over colored my hair (which they were kindly attentive to try to correct after that fact) to now leaving the salon with hair shorter than it’s been in 5 years and hair that was terribly styled to look wavy not even curly at best. This past time I came to cut off dead ends and modify layers a bit as needed but it doesn’t justify the amount of hair that was cut. My goal has always been to grow out my hair and I’ve always been vocal about it and now I’m here sitting back at square 1 with super short hair and it’s extremely disappointing. I’ve been working on my hair for many years. I only straighten my hair twice a year, use only curly brand products, sleep exclusively on silk, deep condition decently often and style without heat. The level of damaged hair was still relatively low to even have reason to cut up to around 5 inches from certain layers. I wish the stylist was more specific on the length she intended to cut understanding my goal and walking me through this and sincerely tried harder to style my hair before I left because between the haircut before tip being $90 and the drive up here being 50 minutes, it really doesn’t feel worth it. To try to be less dramatic I commented on the styling before leaving and was told the manner I usually style it is what brings out the ringlets and all… then how is is I have had good experiences in the past leaving with hair that looks curly with ringlets so that doesn’t excuse this past visit. Having come home and styling my own hair I really see how short it is and I had friends and family all reaffirmed it shouldn’t have to been cut that short based on my original length and hair health. The solution for me is simple - I’m not coming back to this salon. There’s nothing to do to correct a short haircut and so much hard work to grow out your hair. 2 stars because staff...
Read moreI’m sorry to write this review because the first time I went they did an absolutely phenomenal job with my hair, but they seriously messed up my hair the second time I went. Now before I begin, I purposely went to this salon an hour away from my house because I knew they specialized in curly hair and I had such a pleasant experience with them beforehand. I originally got a curly cut with simple caramel highlights in October and it was gorgeous. I don’t let anyone touch my hair and it was my first time going to a salon in years and to get such beautiful results they instantly had my trust. Well, this August I returned to them to do something a bit more noticeable, I wanted a caramel color but a bit lighter with lighter pieces and a cut. Now I didn’t notice it in the salon because of the lighting but once I got home I realized how orange my highlights were and on top of that, the cut was horrendous. It was completely uneven, the layers I loved so much were ruined and so much had been cut off. I texted the salon for a refund which they couldn’t provide which to be fair was stated in their website and they also offered to tone my hair free of charge, but seeing the results of my hair completely shattered my trust in them so I denied that offer. I don’t know what happened or what went wrong or why the results were so drastically different from the first time, but I will never be returning to this salon.
The four photos are my hair before, the color I was going for, what I walked out of the salon with, and my hair with the uneven layers. Thankfully another salon managed to tone my hair so it was much less warm, but once they toned it I also realized how bad the cut is. There is one layer that is completely longer than the rest giving my hair a completely obviously chunky layered look and as a result, now I will have to cut MORE of my hair to fix it. I have never been so disappointed. I love my hair a lot and this was the most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had with anyone. I truly regret ever deciding to return, I really really loved my hair and this...
Read moreMy review is not based on the service I received with the stylist, but towards the owner and products. This is not my first time getting a curly cut nor is it my first time using curly products. I purchased two products from the salon (thinking "why not help this 'small business' through this pandemic") and one of the products caused dandruff, unfortunately. I do not mix products and on this particular day, it was the only product I used on my hair after washing it since I have very fine hair and can only use one styling product at a time. I called the salon and expressed what happened with the product, and was told that "this has occurred before". I was then transferred over to the stylist who suggested other techniques to try and reuse the product to which I stated that I would not be using this product again since it was the only new product I added to my regiment and it was the only product used after washing my hair. I should add that I am not "prone" to dandruff and have never experienced such discomfort. I asked to speak to a manager and a message was taken. I waited a week without a call back so I called again. This time the owner returned my call. As suggested by the stylist, the owner also tried advising different methods/ways to use the product to which I said that I would not be using the product again as I had already used a "small amount" and ensured that it did not touch my scalp. She even went on to saying that I probably used too much or did not use it correctly. The owner followed up by asking how we could rectify the situation to which I asked for a refund for the product. Of course, that was not an option to "Rectify the situation." During the entire phone call, her tone was unpleasant and borderline rude which is unprofessional coming form the owner herself. While I did enjoy my cut with the stylist, I will not return to this business and ensure that my curly friends/family...
