Best Hair Unisex — Attraction in Cliffside Park

I have been going to my personal stylist for years and this was the first time I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try a new hair salon, especially because I had just did a manicure in a nail salon near by.

I was greeted very nicely over the phone and when I went in I was taken care of right away. My hair was washed and detangled properly, I had rollers put in and then put into the hair dryer which unfortunately was not of good quality. They did not allow me under the dryer for enough time therefore my hair was still damp. It typically only takes me an hour to dry my hair however one hour did not suffice under this hairdryer. When I was ready to get my hair blown out the hair dresser sectioned my hair but did not blow dry it enough for it to be straight (I have curly hair). I asked for a specific style (curls at the ends) however the stylist quickly ran the curling iron through each section of my hair.

The worst part of all was when I was ready to pay the owner charged me $50!!! I was so surprised because I inquire about the price before I even got my hair styled and I was told that I get that price after they style my hair. According to what they advertisement on bulletins in the salon, they are to charge $25.00 for a blowout, therefore I did not think they would end up charging me twice that amount. I asked why I was charged so much and she said it was because of the length of my hair and also the wash. The most I have ever paid in a good quality salon was $35 for a blowout. I would have been okay with it if my hair was properly blown out but that was not the case AT ALL. I left the salon with a frizzy look and had to go home and blow it out again myself.

I was having a not so great day and decided to treat myself to a little pampering. I went to my go to MUA Solange and got her VIP treatment. Eyebrows perfectly done and tinted. She took her time and outlined my brows to perfection and tinted them. Next she revived my under eyes with her special under eye pads and an under eye massage. She then proceeded with the rest of my face. Cleansing, toning and hydrating it with her special medical grade products. I’ve been coming to this place for the last 8 years! Very professional staff, great customer service and competitive prices. Love the cleanliness and warmth of this places. Now with Covid-19 reality, this location has hand sanitizers readily available and the owner is on point following CDC guidelines which makes me feel more comfortable. There are plenty of seats spread across the location to help with social distance. Other hair salons are too small or with minimal seats available for waiting clients.
