Mythos Greek Taverna — Restaurant in Cliffside Park

The lamb gyro meat is salty. We ordered gyro meat with a Greek salad on the side. But the waitress gave us a gyro sandwich which has salad inside and a Greek salad on the side. We returned it and they gave us gyro meat with salad on the side AND rice. The gyro meat was a somewhat generous amount but overly salty. The Greek salad was good and looked pretty on the plate. When we finished, I asked her for the check & waited 10 mins but she did not bring us the check. I asked again and another 10 minutes pasted but she still would not bring the check. I waved at her again and another 10 mins pasted; she would just look at us but would not bring the check. I got up and went to the counter and she said “yes” but I still had to wait a long while. First I ordered food the food was literally an hour late which was 1 hour and 50 minutes to receive my order on top of the delivery being tremendously late the food was horrible the lamb was raw in the center and dry on the outside the chicken was tasteless and was dry the cucumber and tomato salad was another interesting concept the cucumbers where rancid the potatoes where burnt and solid as Rock hard on the edges On top of that I speak to the owner and she was rude and completely classless she tells me that she will give me something for free when I come in again Come in again they could not pay me to come in again Talk about insulting she argues with me and I laugh being a former restaurant owner which my restaurant received many positive accolades from the news and customers This experience was...

The food is delicious, but the reason why it gets 2 stars is because the blonde lady that served us brought out a starter of hummus and pita WITHOUT us even asking for it. Since she brought it out without us asking we figured it was free, but it wasn’t, she CHARGED US for something SHE brought out without our request. My family isn’t the type to make a fuss about things so we let it be. But that is not right, you do not charge someone for a starter YOU bring out WITHOUT us asking for it. Because that then looks like it’s not being charged.
