Everytime I visit this AMC there are issues. Last night I saw Bad Boys 4 in Dolby and they had forgotten to turn the A/C on when it was 85 degrees out. Miserable experience. Multiple times they had projector issues for the Dolby theater and it either delays the movie by 30min or they cancel the movie. The A-list line is hidden behind concessions. Half the seats are either ripped up or the recliners don't even work. I've shown up for a 7:30 show and they had accidently started it at 7pm somehow. They are too cheap to buy new cups and use cups with 2 year expired Lego promo codes. Sometimes they forget to turn the lights off and you have to remind them when the movie starts. One theater screen was projecting a triangle instead of a square because the screen was leaning back and the projector wasnt calibrated right. The manager tried explaining how projectors work instead of trying to fix it. There was a group of kids that didnt pay for tix and were running around and loud but management were too scared to kick them out and didnt offer us any compensation because we "finished" the movie. Even though we left multiple times to say something. They are also more expensive than both other AMC theaters in the area but unfortunately this one is right down the road from my house

I recently went to see Avatar: The away of Water at the Dolby Cinema for the first time. Overall I had a good experience. The size of the screen is small and what you would expect from a regular theatre, I'm guessing they just renovated and repurposed the theatre that was there before, to a Dolby one. This is unfortunate, but it is a premium theater when it comes to the audio and visuals. You get 4k laser projection, Dolby Atmos sound (with buttkickers under your seats that give you tactical response for bass), HDR, and as far as I know the only Dolby Cinema in the area that offers movies in 3D (at least Avatar 2). It's noticable right way that the sound is a step way up compared to a standard theatre, so that alone makes up for the smaller screen size. For Avatar, they had HFR 48fps for the underwater scenes which was a nice addition, super smooth. For the movie theatre geeks, the middle of row E is where you want to sit, not to close/far from the screen, and good Atmos overhead. I'm the type of moviegoer that doesn't have a problem traveling to different theatres at all. My go to theatres are Cinemark XD or Emagine super EMAX, but I'll add this to list now, it's a great experience.

The only Dolby Cinema in Michigan (for now)! There's another one "coming soon" in Livonia. From my understanding, that's twin 4K laser projectors with HDR, Dolby ATMOS, and bass shakers in the seats. The other reviewer is right; it gets loud. Loud enough to make your wife cry? That depends on your wife I suppose. My wife and I have seen two movies there so far and I definitely have started checking the website every week to see which movie is playing in the Dolby Cinema. Honestly, the popcorn has been a little lackluster both times we went and the concessions were not cheap. So even though it's close to my house, if I just had to see a movie that's not playing in the Dolby Cinema I'd go to another one of the several theaters which are further from my house but a little newer/cleaner. In the user submitted photos section there are a bunch of pics of the renovation of this theater, which is cool if you're into that kind of thing like me.

I was super excited to see the new bumblebee movie with my family and we chose to visit the gratiot location based on the times we were all able to attend. I ordered tickets online to insure our seats ahead of time. Havent visited this location before and I probably never will again. We waited a few minutes to have my phone scanned because there was no one standing at the podium. A worker who was engaged in a conversation with another employee finally noticed and made his way over to scan my phone. We stopped to take a bathroom break before getting to the concession stand. The restrooms were completely filthy. Pee on the seats, toilet paper littered in every stall, no paper towel and the floors were so messy walking in i was appalled. I didnt even want to use the restroom. Moving on, we made our way to the concession stand and ordered our large popcorn and two large drinks. The man didnt seem very welcoming when taking our order that came to 22 and some change. Handing him 25 dollars he then proceeded to take a minute and handed us our change in coins... at this point our excitement started to dwindle. We grabbed our popcorn and cups to fill up at the beverage area. It gets worse. The floor was filthy, the salt was empty, the counters were covered in a buttery mess and the coke was out... not just one machine but all four ! Most of the employees were engaged in conversations if you looked around. A few were actually doing something work related and then a few were trying to make it seem like they were but not to a standard that should be met. Especially in the condition this amc was in... We had my son there so leaving was not an option. The excitement of your childs favorite super hero in action on a big screen is not something you want to see taken away. We got to watch his favorite super hero even with what I think was a broken light that flashed a few times during the movie above us. We left with his joy but spending 70ish to have an enjoyable experience for ourselves as well was just not met. I am truly disappointed for the lack of care this amc holds. I spend alot of time seeing movies now that my son can sit through flims. I can honestly say I will not return to...

This was not the best experience 😞😤

Upon arriving at the threater, we immediately notice the long line at the concession stand. While getting our tickets to see 'The Blackening', we were never once offered the movie poster. However, others after us seem to have been. I stopped at the restroom, and the bathroom was not very clean. Some toilets needed to be tended to, but the trash cans were literally over flowing and touching the clean paper towels being dispensed.

When I asked about the bar, I was informed that it was closed due to minimal workstaff available. So we get our drinks and head to our movie. My friend and I picked seats that would give us space among the crowd. The movie starts, and about 10-15mins go by, and a gaggle of teens (about 6-7 of them) all come in with 1 adult. The screen is now being blocked because they are trying to find their seats in the dark. They finally settle down, and we are able to continue the movie. At some point halfway into the movie, 3 of the teenagers decide that they want to movie their seat. So they move from 3-4 rows below/under us to the 3 empty seats right next to us. So now we are having to listen to their side conversations, their movie commentary, and see their phone consistently light up, cause their using it. This was already contributing to the fact that many other movie goers were chatting and having their own commentary during 90% of the movie, which was making it increasingly hard to even hear the actors on the screen.

To summarize everything, I was a bit less than happy with my overall experience with the threater. I will add that it was not the fault of staff their, they were doing the best they could with the...

I took my granddaughters to the movies yesterday, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness. The first thing we noticed was the state of the bathrooms: there was toilet paper strewn all over the floor, soap spills on the countertops, and every stall looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while.

When we got to the concession stand, it was more of the same. There was popcorn all over the floor, on the tables, and even around the butter station. It was clear that no one had tidied up between showings.

Inside the theater itself, even though it was a quiet Wednesday with barely anyone there, the cup holders still had leftover trash and the seating area was pretty unkempt. It was easy to move around because it was empty, but it really felt like the theater hadn't been cleaned thoroughly in quite some time.

Overall, it was a disappointing visit. With the staff having plenty of downtime to chat and use their phones, I really felt like they could have kept the place in better shape. Hopefully, they’ll take some steps to improve the cleanliness for future guests.

Just to add a bit more context, this was actually my first visit to this particular theater in many years. The main reason I chose to go back was because of their discounted Tuesdays and Wednesdays. After this experience, though, I’m not sure if I’ll be returning anytime soon..... hopefully they’ll improve things so it becomes a more pleasant place to...
