Canine Wellness Center — Attraction in Closter

I’m a little late on my review, but we are coming up on our third grooming here and are very happy. I have an 8 year old Morkie who went elsewhere for her first not so great grooming. Her hair cut was good there, but they told me that she was “bad.” Now, to be fair, my little Luna has a personality that is disproportionate to her size lol, but after speaking To our dog trainer For help (because obviously I don’t want my dog to bite a groomer!) that trainer shared that the first grooming location was known for being very forceful. I then called another Groomer known for working with reactive dogs, and was told that Luna would just have to grow into it and eventually she would know what was expected of her and it would be fine. That also didn’t sit right with me. I then called canine wellness center and spoke to a very kind woman who assured me that my other experiences did not have to be my forever (fur-ever? ;) experiences. She informed me I was more than welcome to bring Luna’s favorite treats and that they would move at Luna’s pace, which meant that they may not be able to complete the groom in one sitting. That may annoy some people, but to me it felt very reassuring to know that my dog Mattered more than a schedule.

She paired us with Nicole for our first grooming and we stuck with her for our second and soon to be third. Luna comes out of her appointments looking great, but most importantly, acting normal! Not skittish, Not running to get to the door, etc.

I cannot recommend Canine Wellness Center enough!!

From the moment you walk through the door, you’ll know you found a gem with people you can TRUST- which is #1 in my book. Not only does my dog leave looking like a beautiful fluffy princess every time, but the attention to detail and care provided by the staff truly sets this place apart. They always take the time to understand exactly what I want for my dog, and they consistently exceed my expectations. The actual location is literally a spa for your pet, it actually makes me jealous that I don’t go as often to the spa as my dog does! :) If you're searching for a groomer who not only delivers exceptional results but also values your pet's comfort and happiness, you found your place. You won't be disappointed! I’ve referred my friend here (her dog now loves the groomer and was afraid of her previous one), and my parents bring their two dogs here also.

Jan, the owner, has been grooming our pets for over 14 years and has been a genuine caring human being consistently. At first she took care of our beloved Mandie and now our Talia. Presently Danielle has taken on the grooming of Talia who adores Danielle.

It is very obvious that Jan and Danielle have an amazing ability to keep the pets from being anxious. They both do a fine job of grooming as well and continuously demonstrate a high level of caring for our pets.

In addition to those two wonderful ladies the entire staff is polite, professional and courteous. The facility is always clean and welcoming. They work by appointment and always operate in a timely fashion.
