THE ONE STAR IS ONE TOO MANY!!!! On February 9,2021 I had an appointment to handle my father's arrangements, where I provided all of the documents that was required. I followed back up on February 11 to make sure all arrangements where in place, and I was told yes. On Saturday February 13, the date of my fathers funeral, I received a phone call from the cemetery at 9:12 am telling me that the insurance company had mailed a check to the family, and that I had to bring a check to them in the amount of $4,396.63 or my dad would not be laid to rest that day. After they were notified by their lender C &J Financial LLC whom by the way is owned by the same owner of the cemetery (Blake Blomquist) on Friday the 12th at "5:04 pm" Note we had military guards in place for his burial because he was a veteran, programs printed etc. At this point I'm hurt, angry and in disbelief that a company would call a grieving family on the day that they are laying them to rest with a matter that was stated was handled on Thursday. I can't forget that I was told "not to play the victim , and he was a victim as well, and it was not his fault that the insurance company didn't tell that they had released a check. My family as given this cemetery so much business and to be treated this way was horrible. Something needs to be done to keep another grieving family from experiencing the same unprofessional, heartless services that my family received. BLAKE E.BLOMQUIST THE OWNER IS A FAST TALKER AND WILL TRY HIS BEST TO MAKE YOU THINK THAT HE IS HURTING JUST LIKE YOU!! HE ONLY SEE YOU AS A DOLLAR BILL. PEOPLE PLEASE READ AND TRUST THE REVIEWS. Read moreMom passed Feb. 7. Lots to do Feb. 8. Had called ahead to College Park Cemetery as mom had plot, but we needed to take care of all else. Contacted Taretta Dawson that morning. Much to do earlier in the day meant we were later in the day getting to cemetery for that meeting with her. It was near closing time. Taretta was ready for us with some pre-planning she had done already. She never rushed us. She blessed us with her grace and patience....her knowledge and professionalism. She gave us time to make important decisions. She worked with our budget and our changes. She encouraged us to feel comfortable with every decision made that day. All the behind-the-scenes at the cemetery the day of the funeral were perfectly done. Losing our mom hurts. Taretta Dawson's gentle and warm spirit made all the difference during this...
