I've ordered from place at least 6 times because my first ever order with the establishment was phenomenal. My first order must have been an anomaly bacause every order since has had an issue with being ridiculously salty or overly sweet. I attempted ordering and asking for no salt, but everything still arrived extra salty. I love that this is a vegan soul food option, but the consistency of the food is non-existent. Remember “vegan” is not synonymous with “healthy.” Here is a review of the items I have eaten here: Cornbread: is delicious, but the portion size is different with every order. The taste has been consistent with each order, but the portion size has not. Mac and Cheese: seems to be fairly consistent with the taste, but is either super cheesy or a bit dry. Wings/Nuggets: these are delicious, but when I ordered them with the BBQ sauce on the side the wings came extra salty (visibly salty). Greens: I have received a different version of the greens with each order and all were either salty or extra salty. I attempted rinsing them in plain hot water with my last order, but had to throw them away because the salt was thoroughly soaked into the greens. Red beans and rice: these have jerk season added so of you don't like spicy food, do not order these. Overall, they taste was okay and the rice was cooked well. Sweet potato/yams: these are slamming if the consistency would stay the same with each order. They are always tender, which I love, but they are either perfectly cooked and seasoned or downing in a pool of syrup/sugary mix. My recommendation for Planted Soul….roll the dice and hopefully you'll have a great experience. If you have health issues of high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol it might be best to try another place. I'm hoping this establishment can get it together. FYI, this is not an establishment where you can sit down and dine-in. The only ordering option is take-out from shared kitchen. The shared kitchen has other great establishments that I can only say great things about.

this is one of the best places i’ve ever received food from. i was a bit unsure initially because i thought the pick up building was a little odd but it was 1000% worth it! the pickup location is a black warehouse, and when you order they’ll send you a link to unlock a locker inside of the warehouse when your food is ready. there are numbered lockers on the inside wall, and all i had to do was click the link to unlock the locker and grab my food. i tried the good for the soul plate (yams, collard greens, mac, and fried chick’n) and i was happy to see the large portion! there was plenty of mac and cheese, and it was the best mac i’ve had as of posting. the yams were also exceptional. i’d recommend this plate because of the sampling variety. i was also interested in the wings, so i tried half bbq and half lemon pepper. the texture of the “chicken” was impressively realistic, and although the bbq was my favorite because of the sauce, i enjoyed the lemon pepper as well. the last thing i tried was the lobster melt. the fries that came with it were well seasoned, and the lobster melt itself held a lot of flavor. i didn’t find the cheese to be sticky or glue-y, and thought the lobster was pretty accurate. definitely a good order. overall i’d definitely recommend because i could probably eat here every day! all the food was very well seasoned and packed a punch. the portion sizes are huge, the mac and cheese is a must-try 🙌

Change of review below Original:The overall food was dissatisfying , and our expectations were not met. The cajun pasta had no type of seasoning or sauce and it was not close like the picture that was displayed online. The cornbread was not received, instead we received a burnt toast. The greens had no flavor. The Mac and cheese was ok. The fried Oreos was the best tasting thing. Overall experience 3/10 for a $50 order. Update: I went back after speaking with the lead chef about my previous order and let me sayyyyyy WINNER WINNER VEGAN DINNER they over delivered with the pasta, greens, and their cornbread which was included this time that I love…listen everything was seasoned to perfection, fresh, and deliciously satisfying! I’ll tell you tooo give them a chance and you will be highly satisfied nothing’s perfect and when running a business it’s up and down days, but I assure you they listened and they strive to make matters right and I do the same the reason for updating my experience and letting you all know the changes they’ve made! 10/10 Support updated photos of everything! Also I’ve eaten here prior before that review with a great experience my reason for trying them again after addressing the issue and will be supporting moving forward!

My family and I have been supporting this business for over a year but after Monday we are done. I understand things change but not to call people ahead of time to allow customers to make the decision of what they want is wrong. I ordered a tuna sandwich once and when my husband picked it up, it was a completely different meal instead of the tuna sandwich. Everything else was as ordered. Another time, we ordered red beans and rice. We got rice, no red beans. Monday we ordered over $40 of plangz that was supposed to be ready at 7:55pm. Order was not ready until 8:26pm. When my husband checked the order, we were surprised that they changed the plangz from original receipe and they are now oyster mushrooms, which I don't like. Also, he had ordered a side of oyster mushrooms, which he would not have ordered if we knew they changed up the receipe and we would not have ordered so many, as my husband is the only one that likes that texture of oyster mushrooms as wings. What is disturbing to me is that they have NEVER answered the phone on multiple tries to get some understanding. We drive 30 minutes to support and always place order online before going. The least they could do is call someone once order is placed and advise if they are out of something versus just giving you what they want to give you. This in my opinion is being greedy. Not wanting to refund people their money is bad business and honestly we probably would always be ok with a substitution if...
