I was perfectly content with Crunch until I signed up for personal training. I put $100 down to “lock in any deals” and was informed I would have to pay the additional $100 later at the beginning of March. After I paid and signed the personal training contract I was scheduled for my consultation appointment that following Monday at 6pm. I never received any emails or phone notifications of any changes to my appointment time. I went in and was informed my appointment was scheduled at 5pm (why would I schedule my appointment for a time when I’m still at work?), my consultation appointment was then rescheduled for the next day at 6pm. The following day I come in and am informed at the front desk that the trainer they scheduled me with was already with another guest! Earnesto, whom is apparently the personal training manager, set up my appointment for 6:30pm. I went ahead and did my own thing until 6:30, walked up to the front desk and there was no one there. Thinking someone would return shortly I did another workout close to where the front desk was in case the personal trainer came looking for me. At around 6:41 I went up to the desk and spoke to Earnesto again, he again scheduled my appointment for 7pm the next day, Wednesday. On Wednesday I came in at 7pm and checked in, my appointment had been scheduled for 6pm!!! I could understand there being scheduling errors the first time or even the second but the third time was just too much. I immediately said this wasn’t working for me and cancelled the personal training and asked for my money back. At that time a personal trainer was standing on the other side of the counter and unenthusiastically said that they could “I guess” train me! After that whole debacle it left such a sour taste in my mouth I came in on that Friday and cancelled my gym membership. Fernando, the sales manager, was very accommodating and apologetic and tried to get me to stay but after that whole incident I realized Crunch Fitness is extremely unprofessional when it comes to interactions with their customers. Then on top of everything else my fiancé got charged $100 after I had cancelled our gym membership and personal training. When both him and I tried to call Crunch to figure out what was going on we were given incorrect explanations for the charge. He was told the $100 was his annual fee (him and I shared one membership then when he moved out of state the gym membership got changed supposedly under my name with only my bank information on file) then when he asked how he goes about cancelling his gym membership Earnesto, who he spoke to on the phone, told him to email Crunch and they would email him the documents he needed to sign (they never did). In the end the $100 was the additional amount for the personal training that I had cancelled and NEVER received! I kept having to call week after week to figure out what was going on with my refund, speaking to multiple “managers” and getting nowhere. Finally I emailed a Crunch up in Aurora to see if they could give me any additional information. The manager at the Crunch in Aurora was very nice and accommodating and gave me the name of the actual general manager Cheyenne. Finally talking to Cheyenne she put in another request for my refund for the personal training and reassured me that my fiancé did not have a separate gym membership, ours were indeed one single membership. That must of done the trick because we received our refund of the $200 this week. Everyone I spoke to at this Crunch minus Fernando, Cheyenne and the manager up in Aurora were rude and have no clue what customer service is. Beware if you are thinking of joining...
Read moreDo not join Crunch Gym I truly had one of the worst customer services experiences in my life at Crunch gym South. I signed up for a membership one month ago--a $9.99 month to month membership. I also signed up for four sessions with a personal trainer. When I initially visited the gym, the GM Chris attempted to up-sale me at every turn. After expressing firmly that I could not afford the personal training options he was presenting, he said he would sign me up for a month to month membership at $9.99, and one month of sessions with a personal trainer (4 sessions total, meeting once a week). I confirmed with him that the personal training sessions would only be for the one month, to which he assured me that I would not be charged again unless I explicitly asked to sign up again. A few days ago I was charged another $300 for personal training, and was told that I cannot be refunded. To add insult to injury, the month to month payment of $9.99 that Chris said I could cancel at any time (because he knew I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay at the gym), has a cancellation fee. So, now I'm out of another $75. What makes this even worse, I called before my membership was renewed to confirm that I would not be charged again for the training. The front desk worker said that she would make sure that was noted and that it should be fine. Clearly, the inability to be forthright and honest isn't limited to management at Crunch fitness.
Chris is not an honest person, after failing to up-sale me on the services he wanted, he gave me false information to rope me into a membership. When I went back to review my receipt and contract, which he said he would email me, I realized he never sent them. I know now why he didn't send them. I will not be returning to Crunch. This is a shame, because I hoped to work with my trainer again in the future, and she was the epitome of...
Read moreSigned up for a 3-month membership and paid in full because I was on a business trip from out of town. My business trip ended prematurely and I only used the facility for 6 weeks... Half of the time that I paid for. I asked for a prorated refund, I paid for 3 months and only received a month and a half. I understand if they can't refund me for the second month because I already used half of the month... But there's a whole extra month I paid for, that this business refused to refund me for.
Other than that, the gym equipment is just not as good as it could be, A workout is still doable, but range of motion on certain machines as well as the height of the benches. Just certain little things and not having certain equipment, not able to get in certain exercises because of it....
Wouldn't even consider using a crunch fitness again, Not just due to the quality of the equipment but the fact that they wouldn't even consider giving me a prorated refund for unused time that I paid for up front.
--- response to owner's response--- I realize you're just trying to protect the image of your business, as would I. But I also would not treat guests and clients as you have treated me. The only reason I am leaving this is because you guys have done bad business... I HAVE ALREADY REACHED OUT TO THAT EMAIL, AND I'VE BEEN TURNED DOWN AND TOLD " TOO BAD " ...... If you truly cared as a business owner, you would make it right by giving me a prorated refund and STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE PEOPLE THAT WALK IN YOUR DOOR AND GIVE YOU MONEY... I used to work in a gym for a long time, NASM certified personal trainer, I currently own multiple businesses, and I would never treat my clients as such.... Have the day you deserve and I hope people read my review before choosing to give your...
