By far, the best and most authentic Korean food I've had in Colorado.
We've spent some time in South Korea before covid last year and some of their food tastes just as good, if not better than some of the restaurants that we went to in South Korea.
We ordered the bulgogi dolsot bibambop and it was the tastiest bulgogi bibambop I've ever had from South Korea to Washington state, and in Colorado. It wasn't overly salty and the egg was perfect.
Also the galbitang was absolutely amazing even after a full belly. Personally this is my favorite Korean dish aside from cold noodles of which, I'll get next time. I highly recommend it if you like soup.
Place was a little expensive overall compared to the other places I've been to around here and up to Washington state in terms of Korean food but so worth it for the food.
The servers were really great too and we came an hour before closing. Even then, the food was still amazing. If you're looking for authentic AND great tasting Korean food, give this place your business.
Besides the Korean restaurants here in Colorado, I've been highly disappointed in the Mexican and Thai restaurants since I've been here. The sushi places have been okay but this....
This one makes up for all the bad food I've had in my previous ventures of restaurants here...
Read moreGreat authentic Korean food, fair prices, and very good service.
Be aware that when I say authentic, I mean there are a lot of fermented and funky flavors so often found in East Asian food. But if real deal Korean is what you're after, Tong Tong has it. The meal isn't huge, but there's more than enough variety to warrant going back often. The initial service of numerous small dishes of kimchi and other fermented foods reminded me a lot of some of the great meals I had when visiting South Korea. The appetizers were splendid and plentiful and our hotpot main course was excellent -- shrimp, octopus, bulgogi beef, tofu, and vegetables in a savory broth with just a kick of spice. We ordered far too much food and still ate almost all of it.
If you're new to Korean food, try to go with a group and order a number of different things to share so you can discover what you like. I didn't try the short ribs, but I expect those would be a good place to start since Korean short ribs are typically excellent.
The ambiance isn't much, but the food more than makes up for the somewhat unexciting interior. I'm a big fan of Korean food and I would happily eat here all the time if I...
Read moreThis is my first time coming to this restaurant. Lunchtime may not be the best time to visit this restaurant if you're on a schedule. Also if you have children, be prepared to have slow service. I'm not comparing this place to any other restaurant nor any service provided by other restaurants. The food tasted very good. Exceptional actually. But the service was absolutely horrible. We had no water refills, we waited for 20 minutes to even be acknowledged at our table, on top of waiting for our food for another 30 min. I then asked for more sides refills before we finished our meals and didn't even get the refills. When we got the check, we still hadn't received our refills. Kindly had to remind them about the refills. Maybe it was because we had children, maybe it was because I was not in a military uniform like everyone else in the restaurant, maybe it's because the color of my skin. Whatever the reason I greatly do not recommend coming here. I hope they realize that customer service is of utmost importance. And this is not the way to...
