Illusion Nails — Attraction in Columbus

They have a super open schedule. I came in at 6:59/7. Told me they were closed but I had called early and quoted him saying I could walk in any time before 7. Explained in detail which top coats for gel would show through and gave me suggestions. The problem is when he applied the gel, there were huge gaps. It looked like I had gotten them done a week ago. He explained he couldn't go all the way to the cuticle or it would look messy. Have never heard that any other salon... he demonstrated by randomly painting onto my finger about ten minutes into the process. He goes, "See?" I was kinda like um, what the hell... I had a million questions, and he acted slightly irritated. I even acknowledged how annoying I was, and he ignored me. It comes with the territory that some customers are exhausting or not meant to be your best friend. He made me feel uncomfortable. I can be overly sensitive sometimes though. Also, he wanted so much more for a manicure, so my nails ended up looking sloppy bc I couldn't afford it. I paid 24.99 for the set. After tax, I tipped him $5, which is 20%. That's standard, I thought, and necessary, even though I was extremely disappointed in the results. I'm also poor, and probably should have bought eggs and laundry detergent instead of wasting my $ on a half-ass job. He did not thank me for the tip, but instead asked me in an abrasive tone, what the total said, implying my handwriting was a wreck (which it is). He didn't punch me in the face or tell me I was ugly, he was just rude and short. I will go back to city nails across from centennial next time where they do a much superior job and treat you like a human. I am aware that if you are willing to spend your money on a complete set includin, manicure, solar/acrylic, AND a gel top coat, the results are supposed to be more promising. I don't have that kind of money, or find the entire process necessary. I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because he wasn't outright mean, and responded as best he could to 90% of my questions. I also keep in mind that if someone had had a bad day, it can affect their performance or personality. The quality was of an amateur, and damaged much easier. I just will not return, which is too bad bc the location is...

8/23/24 My husband needs a pedicure today. Sarah is our go to for both of us. Sarah does my manicures also. Sami, Sonny also do great work. I've been coming here for 18yrs. Always happy, funny, friendly and professional. Thank you for your services Illusion Nails 💅

11/28/23... Brought my cousin into have her acrylic nails removed due to her chemo medication's. Sonny always takes good care of her 😊 Thank you all at Illusion Nails!!

10/3/23... Here again for my pedicure. Sara takes very good care of me! 😊 Reasonably priced, gentle when she works on my toes/feet wonderful service 👍 Thanks to all of you at Illusion Nails!!!

Back today for my spring pedicure. Sara always does a great job she puts 💯% into her work. If you haven't tried their services, you're missing out!!

Bad pedicure, made a child question herself. I went with my mom, and my little sister. My mom got a pedicure with gel polish. As the pictures show it was blatantly not well done, these pictures are same day, there are nails with polish missing in spots, pooled in spots… and was overall disappointing. I got a fill on my acrylics. not bad. the hearts are a little misshapen, but overall not bad. the nail tech was very friendly and funny… but she also did my little sisters FIRST manicure. When we were discussing potential accents on her nails, we decided on the middle finger (as that isn’t something we worry about in the family, and we just wanted her to be excited about them) and she asked if it was okay to my mom, completely understandable… but when we said she wanted spiderwebs in february she asked OVER AND OVER again if she was sure and if it was okay she asked so many times she mad my sister feel bad about herself, and what she wanted that...
