The first time I went to Q Nails, I was absolutely in love. At the time, I was just having old acrylics removed, but I couldnāt believe what an amazing job they did! 6 months later, I decided to go back and try them out for a new set. I made an appointment but was disappointed to find out upon my arrival that they had ālostā it. Since it was Motherās Day, I suspected that maybe I got bumped for a regular customer but I shrugged it off and made a different appointment. My tech at the second appointment was SO SWEET ⦠but she did a terrible job. My acrylics were so thick that my nail beds actually ached from the weight of them and the paint job was less than desirable. I went to a different salon to have them repaired and the tech there was quite shocked. He advised me not to return and I wish I would have listened to him. Q Nails is SO CLOSE to my house and everyone there was so nice, I just wanted to give it one more shot. I went in yesterday afternoon for a balance and I left without any nails. I have never experienced any sort of customer service like this. I wonāt even dive into the argument in which she told me that if I didnāt get gel nail polish, I would look trashy; I can let her have her opinion on that one. But everything else ⦠my gahd. When the woman first shortened one nail, I advised her that I felt it was too pointy. She angrily reminded me that she would be shaping them later and to only focus on the length. After a little back and forth, I conceded and told her that the length was great. After clipping all of them, she shaped my pinky nail, which had started as a perfectly elegant almond shape. When she was finished, I told her that it was still a bit pointy and again, she assured me that sheād round it out. I have a tendency to micromanage so I decided to focus on the television and just let her do her job. When she was finished, I looked down in horror to see that my once perfectly shaped nails had been filed into short, stubby, CROOKED, talons. I was mortified. I tried to explain to her what was wrong and she told me I was crazy. āYou crazy, these look nice!ā They most certainly did NOT look nice! The worst part of all of this was that she had shortened them so severely that there was no option but to remove them at this point. I asked her to please take them off and she refused. She told me that she was almost done and sheād just fix them. After asking her half a dozen times, she finally agreed to remove them. During the removal, she informed me that my bill would be $10.75. I literally laughed in her face, told her that I would not be paying, and called over the gentleman from the front desk to advise him, as well. I was backed by the patron to my left, who had witnessed everything. After what seemed like an eternity to āremoveā the acrylics (in quotes, as my nails are still covered in varying depths of acrylic), I went to the sink to wash my hands. When I returned, the gentleman from the front desk was holding my purse and demanding the $10.75. I was absolutely flabbergasted. Can this be considered robbery? He said that he was not giving my purse back unless I paid. I stood my ground, explained my situation again, and was met with more demands: I was going to pay or I couldnāt have my purse back (side note: how was I supposed to pay without my purse?). Another patron finally stepped in and convinced him that he should just let me leave with my belongings. After I got home, I realized that my nails hadnāt even been filed and I spent the next hour (after already spending an hour at Q Nails) making them presentable. Not only will I NEVER return to Q Nails, if I could press charges for STEALING MY PURSE and ATTEMPTING TO HOLD ME AGAINST MY...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could give zero stars but I canāt.. so hereās why, I went there a couple weeks ago and asked for a full acrylic set. And Iāve been going here for years, but lately I donāt know what has happened. My sister and my two best friends had a good or okay expirence but I did not. They guy who did mine started off okay, but when he started painting them I noticed I didnāt like the color and I voiced it. He said āitās okay itāll get darker with another coat.ā And when I noticed that it wasnāt I said something again and he said āitās pretty on youā and I told him politely that I would really like another color. And he got upset with me and huffed around to find the other colors and threw them at me. When I chose a different color, instead of taking off the old color and repainting them, he COLORED OVER THEM!!! I let it go, and we paid and left. After we left, since I got the almond shape (which Iāve had done at better nail salons) I noticed my pinky nails werenāt pointing straight out but they were pointing up! And the nails were all uneven lengths and thickness. And painted horribly. So I went back maybe 3 hours later because I couldnāt stand it. The lady who owns the place re did them but with an attitude. She asked who did them and I told her and he came over and said that my pinky nails follow my actual nail. I told him my pinky nails donāt stick up like that. And the owner tried to tel me the same thing. So she redid them. But they still were uneven and sticking up and bubbly and just terrible. So two weeks went by and I went back to give them the benefit of the doubt. I asked for my nails to be taken off and get just a regular gel manicure. The owner did them once again. She told me my nails were too short to remove the acrylics and paint them. So she shortened the Acrylics and changed the shape like I asked. But she took off the acrylics for two of my nails and left the rest on...... I was like okay. And I got a matte top coat. And paid and left. A couple days later the gel started peeling off!!!!! I have never had that happen. EVER. And then all my nails fell off two days later. I work in retail. Not some hard labor job so i donāt know why they would peel the nail polish and then the nails fall off. Not coming back. Ever. That was the last...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in for a basic manicure with clear polish just to clean up my cuticles and shape my nails. I have never had a "professional" manicure before and I would hardly call my experience professional. The guy who did my nails was really short with me, and even though I had explained that I had never had manicure before he was very unhelpful.
The only thing he said to me was "you can pay me now" when I say back down after washing my hands, he had not applied a clear base coat at this time so I was pretty confused. I handed him my debit card and tipped him (even though my service was not complete which I feel like is kind of inappropriate in itself). After my payment was accepted he then applied the clear coat and advised me to "be careful" when he was done and gestured to the LED table. Again, I was super confused and did not really understand if he was done and I should leave or what. I sat at the table with my nails under the light for probably 10 minutes, during which no one checked on me to ask how I was doing. No one even acknowledged I was still there. I had to ask if I could leave because I had not received a "have a nice day" or anything indicting that my manicure was done. Bare in mind, I have never been to a nail salon so I did not know what to expect but I definitely expected more for something you were paying $15 plus for someone else to do. I could have done everything the technician did at home, I was just...
