Superb product, always. My family has been shopping here for decades, and the selection and value has never wavered.

You'll notice the only poor reviews are from those who think it's righteous to back a lying, mentally ill tyrant, or folks who still don't understand that businesses cannot operate as if the pandemic doesn't exist. Yes, we get to vote with our wallet - and this company is doing well. I have never encountered a rude employee in the store, or during one of my pick up orders. I have, however, seen them explain to a customer that the instant gratification being demanded, cannot be accommodated during COVID. I'm glad the people who work in this store feel empowered to keep themselves and the rest of their customers safe. Being kind is a brand value, and every time I visit, I see it. Then again, I choose to see it. Nothing about the idea that cooking is about love and patience was controversial, until that orange menace made hate something to aspire to.

I bought the Heart and Soul box as my first - and last - purchase from Penzeys. Little did I know this business is one of many that want to bring politics into the marketplace and feels that it's acceptable to make nasty remarks about conservatives. A flyer in the box includes several paragraphs talking about how groups are using "unlimited spending to undermine our values" and how they are using "broken people" in their effort at reshaping the government. It states, "If you look at all the ways those currently leading the Republican Party are trying to derail lives..." Pathetic! Yes, as an American the First Amendment gives you the right to say basically whatever you want and as an American, I have the right to boycott those who don't have enough sense to keep their politics out of business. My complaint is that you weren't upfront about it; I didn't know your political leanings until after I'd made the purchase. I hope this review can prevent others from making even one purchase from this...

The reviews on this location are funny. You guys know this is a chain of stores, right? It's not like Penzey's is personally reading all these reviews of this particular location complaining how offended you are that they don't share your political views. Anyway, I order online all the time, and I'm super happy with the quality of spices each time. This time I stopped into the Kenny Road location for the first time in years because I needed Bold Taco, and I doubt I'll be back. The staff fawned all over several customers, complementing their orders, telling them what was on sale, offering them help, and then completely ignored the other 4-5 people in the store including me, avoiding eye contact and walking quickly past us. It was so weird. I'm not asking for you to hold my hand through the store, but a simple greeting would have been polite! Store is great, product is great, people that work there are just not great at customer service unless you're one of the chosen ones, I guess. Back to...
