3 stars just because the neighborhood is great. Letâs go through the pros and cons which there are more Cons. This apartment complex after being taken over switched to NEP ( nationwide energy partners) this company is a scam. (Look on Reddit for more reviews) along with a $16 customer fee that they cannot explain, your bill will go up consistently even though you use the same amount of energy. I was in a 500sgft apartment, my bill should not be 120$ at the time of moving out. Secondly Iâm not sure if itâs because this place is an ancient building but BUGs bugs and more bugs. If youâre not dealing with roaches youâll definitely have ants. Yes they come spray and are serious about it but it seems to be a theme. It is a shared boiler room so if it goes out you wonât have hot water, this happened often. Also prepared to not have the AC turned on when it gets hot. You do have control of the thermostat in your place once they have turned on for the season. Heat or AC.
We are treated like children when the actual children have free roam and leave their toys bikes out and break the screens of the residents windows. They locked up the pool last year for months and monitored it like it was a military station. No one picks up their dogs poop. The washing machines are ok but they are never serviced.
There are outlets that do not work and junction boxes that were bypassed to make the ârenoâ quick. For ex I cannot turn my exhaust on in the kitchen without turning my kitchen light on. The fan for the bathroom is automatic when the light comes on. There are cleaners that come maybe once in a blue moon and they only sweep and maybe will clean the garbage in the laundry room. It smells terrible from the machines leaking into the hallway. Also the walls are paper thin. But it has sturdy walls. Also itâs gas stoves, huge plus for me.
The only reason I stayed was because the renters market sky rocketed and they only upped my rent 20$ - if I was to stay now they would have upped it hundreds of dollars depending on when you sign your lease. I was confused on that one. The previous company that owned this place was wonderful. it was a huge community and the leasing office actually lived in the complex so theyâd be privy to any issues that came up, it would get fixed quickly. THe staff here are good I want to make that clear but the company that took over just..I have no words At last I would not recommend this place. Like I said before the pro is the neighborhood it is fantastic and safe. Also this is a dog friendly community which is a huge plus. For what you pay itâs just not worth it to me. My rent was $926 for one bedroom and w the mandatory utilities like sewage water etc...
Read moreIn the last year or so since this complex has changed to egde at Arlington, we've had the water shut off on us at least 5 times with absolutely no notice. There have been multiple occasions of construction going on as early as 6:30 in the morning, again with out any type of warning. This is completely unacceptable, I don't understand what is so hard about letting the residents know these things. The staff in the office is rude and uncaring about this as well. Overall since this place became the egde at Arlington, the experience has gotten worse.
Update: apparently we're going to be forced to either move out, or move into an upgraded town home for close to $200 more in rent. Thanks for nothing.
Update 2: in the months leading up to our lease being up here, my wife would stop by the office to find out what our options were regarding renting options here. At first we were told the info in my first update. Later we were told that we could continue living where we were. After that we told we could move into a renovated place for less than we were initially quoted. All of these options were not given hard numbers and my wife was told to wait for a paper to be left at our door. They said the info would be given to us. Well 2 weeks into August, we were finally given the info we had waited months for. Which wouldn't have been a problem, except 60 days notice is required for moving out. Did I mention at that point our lease was up in 45 days? Yes, the information my wife had pestered the office about was delivered too late to move out, and because we hadn't talked to them about our lease we were automatically moved to a month to month lease. If we had wanted to move out we would have had to pay over $1000 for a month because THEY didn't deliver the information WE REQUESTED FOR 5 MONTHS.
Again, the staff in the office did not care about this and in fact tried to tell us that we should have contacted them sooner about our lease. Right. How are we supposed to make a decision about living here if we're not given the proper information? Sounds an awful lot like they were trying to scam us out of money.
I sincerely cannot believe this place has gotten worse since my initial review. I'm surprised how little the owners and office workers care about their residents. It's awful, I've told multiple people to avoid this place, and I have my calender marked to turn in our 60 days notice. I can't wait to leave and never have to deal with this place ever again. Thank you for reading this far, and if it wasn't clear, stay far away from this place and this company. All they want...
Read moreThis is truly the worst place Iâve lived in my entire life. Itâs the definition of section 8 housing. The leasing office could literally care less about you and any of your concerns. I had to get on them about signing a lease for me because I needed somewhere to live in a tight timeframe, or else I wouldâve never lived here. If youâre a female and looking to live here alone, DONT do it!!!! Men stand in the parking lot fixing their cars all night long and will make comments about you. I vocalized my concerns the whole entire time I lived here and no one ever got back with me or followed up on any concerns. Any concern they said they would resolve were never resolved. It is June and 86° outside in their AC still is not on and working. I have been told since a month ago âtomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrowâ The door codes havenât been changed in years, Trash lingers around the complex. My friends car was stolen less than a week since I moved here. The leasing office did nothing to help and told me they had to ask tenants for a ring footage, then six months later told me that they canât ask for any footage from tenants. One singular camera on the WHOLE PROPERTY. None of the lights work outside the property, so donât expect to be able to see anything at night . Aaron, specifically the property manager, told me that that would be fixed in a week and it has been two months and not followed up on. I wouldnât recommend anyone to live here besides my worst enemy because itâs the definition of living in hell. Every building smells terrible, itâs never clean and the tenants can do whatever they want. Youâll have kids throwing rocks at your windows, kids throwing rocks in the dog park, and the property management simply said thereâs nothing they can do about kids actions. The only good thing about this apartment complex is the maintenance team and them actually being caring. They will fix your issues in a decent amount of time and communicate with you. Anyone else? Good luck. I could go on and on and on forever, but I assume you probably got my point. DO NOT LIVE HERE AND GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THESE HORRIBLE, LOW MORALE PEOPLE!!
Also, the fact that the apartment complex argues with people on Google tells you everything you need to know, they will never communicate with you and do not fulfill any promise promises. I am telling you, this is the worst property management you will have in your whole entire life.
Also: aggressive dogs live here and almost in every single building. Be aware, keep your dog on a leash, and never trust other dogs...
