See the bottom for updates - this is absolutely wild
I called and asked how long their buylist was good for. I was told 2 days, then came in and they said “we’ll have to redo it” and didn’t honor it. They also declined some cards that were on their buylist.
Cherry on top was how rude the guy at the cash register was. I’ve never seen someone so salty that he had to do his job.
Edit to respond:
That’s a straight up lie. It was not over 72 hours. It was just under 48 hours. I specifically called to check and then made sure to come in within 2 days. I called you 01/27 just before 7 pm, put in the buylist after that, then came in 01/29 around 5 pm. I looked back at my emails, phone logs, and texts and confirmed this. So no, it was not 3 days. So don’t tell me I was “insisting” I get more value than I deserved, because I brought it in within the agreed upon time. The guy recognized that it was within 2 days but said it didn’t matter (even though I called and asked).
You claim you gave me an offer anyway- ALSO not true. The guy came out, handed me some cards that weren’t from Innistrad that WERE on the buylist, and said he just wasn’t interested in them. Even though they were on the buylist. He then said he could still take the rest, but would have to manually go through them again. I did not have time to wait another 30 minutes so I left.
And the only cards still sleeved were high dollar cards, I’m not gonna throw serialized cards in a box with no sleeves.
Final edit: I have sent the owner multiple screenshots showing that I brought the cards in within 48 hours. The owner continues to say some form of “you’re just not happy with our policy.” Whatever dude, I showed you proof that it was within your policy. Don’t come to this place expecting to be treated like an equal. They’ve constantly spoke down to me trying to say I’m just upset, and constantly spoken down to me trying to explain how pricing works. I know how it works, I was within...
Read moreBelow is the original review but what follows is a response to the owner accusing me of harrasment. No sorry leaving reviews on google is the whole reason this exists to leave comments on experiences for businesses. Leaving a review saying the owner lied is not harassment. You’re lying and saying we brought in a January 24th buylist trade in which is false because we canceled that one and made a new one January 27th because we could not make it for the first one. Like I stated before we didn’t care that our cards were not overpaid but it’s the fact you’re lying about us publicly and saying we’re harassing you. Idk why you keep having to say we didn’t follow your guidelines and trying to paint us as the un honorable ones. You didn’t follow your guidelines which is fine because I don’t expect you to overpay for cards but don’t have your buylist setup like that and say it’s good then deny cards brought in. We have the proof that we submitted the list January 27th and came in before the 48 hours. Yet you’re still lying about us publicly so no responding to lies on the internet is not harassment sir.
This is in response to their response of my brother Nathan Macy of who I was with at warp gate. They lied and said we made our buylist over 3 days beforehand which was false. We sent it in Monday night and came there Wednesday evening. That’s less than 48 hours. The buylist guy that said he’d Re do it wasn’t rude and we don’t blame anybody for not overpaying for cards but you shouldn’t have a buylist that’s good for “48 hours” then deny people that drive an hour to drop it off. And also have cards on the buylist then refuse to take them. And the guy at the desk with the beard was not helpful and was being rude to us for voicing these comeplaints. If they would’ve just said hey these prices are over market we can’t make money. No harm but lying on...
Read moreI’m fairly picky with my game stores since I want a really wide variety of things to pick from in terms of card games and tabletop games and this place is absolutely my new go to store. They have things like Magic, Pokémon cards, The New Gundam trading card game, Lorcana, and more for card games.
However, where I feel they really shine is their tabletop war gaming collection. If I remember correctly there were things like kingdom death in there there were warmachine models, which are pretty dang hard to find these days, And so much Warhammer of every single style from Necromounda down to Warhammer Underworlds, 40K, kill team, “old hammer” fantasy, Age of Sigmar, Heresy, Even big hard to find FOMO boxes from years and months ago.
And that’s to say nothing of the paint they have on offer like AK interactive, monument hobbies, all the latest army painter stuff, colour forge, which is incredibly hard to get In the states.
There’s also plenty of place to play any of these games in the front and the back of the store, As well as a dedicated place to assemble and paint models in the back. All of this plus things like a card catalog, price checker for buying and selling singles of magic and beyond, Board games, A small smattering of RPG books, novelized lore books of various games, and NO WEIRD GATEKEEPER VIBES FOR ME OR MY WIFE/friends!
I can’t tell you how important that last bit is. Everyone was really friendly and sincerely interested in talking to us. You can tell these people have had customer service training and experience beyond what most retail settings...
